Reading Bullet Journal Ideas To Try Today
Ok, time to dive in and look at a few ideas for your reading-related Bullet Journal pages. In this post, I gathered inspiration from different creators, so you get not only different ideas, but also a wide variety of styles and designs.
Even though I have been journaling since 2018, reading-related pages are not something I create often (probably because my reading habits are far from the best or the most consistent), so I think pages from other creators will be especially beneficial. For all of us, actually, I got a few ideas here to try in my own journal as well!
And of course, if you want, simply check the links at the end of this blog post.
Book Tracker

Let’s start with probably the most widely used idea: a book tracker, and here is one I’ve created. You can use it as a layout for books you’ve read, or maybe as a bookshelf for all the books you want to read.
This is definitely my favorite type of reading page to create, and as you can see in this image, I always combine plenty of space to write with some fun, creative decorative elements.
Series Tracker
I feel like there are a lot of series worth checking out, but with the total number of books in each, it can be overwhelming to keep track.
This is when this layout will be useful – that way, you can easily jump between different series and never skip any books. And also have a good idea of what you commit yourself to before you start a series.
Reading Log
Just like with any habit, sometimes you need some extra help to get into daily reading. This tracker helps you see how you’re doing with your reading habits, and I love how the creator even color-coded the number of pages read.
Monthly Reading Summary
If you read a lot, you might consider trying out a monthly summary like this one, with all the books you’ve read and ratings.
I think it’s a fantastic idea to have the little book covers on one side with all the layouts. I also love all the extra information this creator included: the book format, page count, favorite read, and so on.
Reading Bingo

Sometimes it might be more fun to turn your reading into a game and choose the next book that way, rather than agonizing over making the impossible choice between all the things you want to read.
I created this page specifically to push myself to read more, because I think turning things into games makes it a bit more exciting and motivational.
Bullet Journal Book Tracker
Here is one more book tracker. This person definitely reads much more than I do, so you can see they used two pages to fit all the books they plan to read.
I would recommend this to an avid reader, but not somebody who is just getting into it. Having too much space and too many books to add can feel like extra pressure, and you might end up being overwhelmed and not reading at all.
Quote Page

I love creating quote pages. They are a fun way to explore your creativity. And books are full of amazing quotes that inspire, motivate, and teach us. So why not create a layout with your favorite book quotes?
This, as far as I remember, is a quote from Sir Terry Pratchett, and I thought it would be a perfect companion to my reading-themed Bullet Journal setup.
Reading Journal Bracket
Personally, when it comes to evaluating things (be it movies, books, or any other media), I always struggle to pick the best one. However, it is very satisfying to have an idea of what that very best book was in this case.
A lower-pressure way to do it is to create a bracket, and I’d be so grateful to this creator for introducing me to this idea.
Reading Goals
The best way to achieve a result is to set goals and then track your progress. This works, of course, for your reading as well.
Whether you’re already an avid reader or just starting to get into reading more, this kind of layout will help you read more.
Reading Challenge Layout
Sometimes you just need something extra to motivate you, or to add social elements to your reading. And I think a challenge can do just that. Plus, of course, it can be a fun page idea to try.
There are thankfully so many different challenges you can be part of, so no matter what your reading preferences are, you’ll be able to find something that fits. Or you can create a challenge for yourself by yourself, just you and your reading journal.
Books To Read
I’m not sure about you, but I know I always get plenty of book recommendations and so rarely remember them. So when I finish the book, I feel lost not knowing what to read next. This layout will help you keep your reading wish list on one page and always have something to read.
I also really like that this creator didn’t just list the book’s title but also its genre; that way, you can easily find something that fits your current mood.
New Words Layout
Reading is a great way to improve your language skills, be it your native language or a new one you’re learning. So it can be a fun idea to create a page with all the new words and expressions you learned.
Book Review Layout
Last but not least is this beautiful layout with a book review. I know I often forget what the books I read are about, and so layouts like this one will help you keep it in mind and keep all the lessons you learned as well.

Stationery recommendations
Let’s have a quick chart about stationery. You definitely can use any pens and markers you already have. But if you’re looking to get something extra for your reading pages, I have a few things I’m sure you’ll love.
Here are my recommendations:
- Calliograph pens. They come in beautiful colors and have two brush tips, so you can use them for coloring and creating headers in different sizes. (You can also get 10% off with my code MASHA10)
- Fineliners. These are the blood of every Bullet Journal page, and I recommend getting these ones.
- Book stencil. An easier and definitely faster way to add book doodles to your Bullet Journal.
- Letter stamps. I feel like it fits so well with all the reading-related pages. And it will let you create many fun, unique headers.
I hope you check these out, and these supplies will inspire you to create your own unique reading journal pages.
