Supplies For Reading Journal
Before we look at the pictures, let’s have a quick look at some stationery that I think will help you recreate these beautiful layouts.
In case you want some recommendations, here are some of my favorites:
- Calliograph pens. They come in beautiful colors and have two brush tips, so you can use them for coloring and for creating different sizes of headers. (you can also get 10% off with my code MASHA10)
- Fineliners. These are the blood of every Bullet Journal page, and I recommend getting Sakura Pigma Microns.
- Book stencil. An easier and definitely faster way to add book doodles to your Bullet Journal.
- Letter stamps. I feel like it fits so well with all the book pages. And it will allow you to have many fun and unique headers.
Ok, enough of stationery talk. Get all your pens ready and let’s dive in and see what kind of pages you can create in your reading journal.
Book Journal Page Ideas
`There are so many amazing creators out there who share their reading journal pages; it was almost impossible not to include a 100 images in this post!
But I help myself back and cut it down to 19 page ideas. I hope they will inspire you and keep your creativity flowing to maybe come up with your own unique ideas.
Of course, if you're starting a reading journal, the first thing you need to do is to create a cover page. And this one is absolutely stunning.
I especially love the addition of kraft paper. It makes it look so cozy!
Just like with starting a Bullet Journal, you'll do better if you do it with a plan.
This is a fantastic example. I love how many details are in those page sketches; it will make it so much easier to start on all these pages.
And the color scheme is so gentle and calming. Perfect for a book journal.
This is a fun idea to keep track of the books you've read. Or maybe list the books you want to read.
However, you want to use it, be sure to click "read more" to get some more book tracker inspirations.
An easy way to keep track of your reading is by doing those big monthly reviews.
I love that this doesn't just have the number of pages read but also favorite and least favorite books.
I wonder how many books they read to have a favorite book of the month! That must be an impressive number.
But yeah, if you're an avid reader, this might be a fun idea to do every month.
I know that avid readers are kind of like me with stationery; you just have to have that new book, just like I have to have that new set of Mildliners.
So how do you not spend all your money on books? By using libraries! This spread is an incredible motivation to switch to using libraries instead of buying every book in your local bookstore.
I'm incredibly impressed by the amount of money one can actually save if they use a library.
As far as I understand, this is kind of like a key Bullet Journal spread, but for your books. So you can decipher what those things you noted in your book are.
I've never actually done anything like that, but it seems like a fun and very useful way of reading.
Personally, I prefer taking my book notes as visual notes, but this format works as well.
Apart from this page looking absolutely stunning, it's also so well structured and organized. I like that there is a separate section just for her thoughts about it.
When it comes to challenges, they can be a great motivation to keep on doing something and are fun to participate in, especially if you have a community doing it with you.
The same is true if it's a reading challenge, so why not make a spread like this and challenge yourself to read more?
Really fun monthly page idea with so much information on all the possible reading stats.
I really like that in the reading tracker on the right the creator added not just which day they read, but also how many pages.
I love the idea of just creating a list of the book you want to read.
It's simple, fast, and easy to follow. And looking at this page - you can still decorate it beautifully.
This is such a fun idea! I love it and definitely need to create one myself right now.
I don't know about you, but I always find it so difficult to rate things. But this is a much easier way to find your favorite books.
Books are full of amazing quotes, or maybe you just have a good quote you love about books. Why not add some quotes to your journal?!
They can be a fun way to summarise the book or just symbolize the most important idea you get from it.

I can't believe only now we're talking about a reading tracker. This is such a useful spread to help you establish your reading habits and reach your book goals.
This is such a clever idea; after all, reading books is one of the best ways to enhance your vocabulary.
And this works for both native and non-native speakers, I believe.
Technically this is more than just a reading list here, but I want to pay more attention to it rather than the monthly statistics. We'll have that as a separate idea next.
I really love the idea of printing and cutting out the mini versions of the book's cover pages for this spread.
This can be monthly statistics or weekly ones. In this example, they are statistics from her last 10 books.
I really love that the creator added the mood section. Whether it's the mood she was in when reading or the mood she got from reading the books, it's an interesting metric to have.
Wow, this page is so satisfying! Doesn't it just make you want to read more books so that you can create one like that in your journal?
The brush lettering here is also super cute.
Book bingo is a fun way to motivate yourself to read more and turn it into a game. Because why not?!
