Cozy Winter Drawing Ideas: 21 Easy Doodles To Draw This Season
Learning how to doodle is easier than you think, and winter is the perfect season to start.
Before I opened my first Bullet Journal in 2018, I couldnโt draw anything, and now doodling is one of my favorite ways to relax on cold evenings.
In this post, Iโm sharing 21 cozy winter drawing ideas, from snowmen and hot chocolate to penguins, foxes, and candles. Each doodle includes a nine-step tutorial that starts with basic shapes like circles, ovals, and rectangles.
So grab one pen, put on something warm, and pick the doodles you like best. Your journal pages are about to get a lot cozier!

Doodling is a skill like any other, and all you need is some practice and plenty of references. So think of this post as your cheat sheet. Every doodle below is broken down into simple shapes, and once you start seeing shapes everywhere, you can draw almost anything.
If you want a refresher on the basics, take a look at my FREE course on how to doodle, where I share step by step all the secrets on how to master this creative activity. You can sign up for it at the end of this post.

What You Need For These Winter Drawing Ideas
Not much, honestly. One pen you like and any notebook will do, and you can fill the whole page with a single color. Kraft paper is my favorite for winter doodles because the brown color instantly makes everything feel cozier.
So, here are some of my favroites:
- Kraft paper notepad for that special cozy feeling, and you can get 10% OFF with my code MASHA10.
- Pilot Dr. Grip Pencil – the most comfortable opencil I’ve ever used and the one that will be a great help when you’re doodling.
- Fineliners are perfect for drawing the doodles when the pencil sketch is looking the perfect way. There are many options, I’d recommend Unipin fineliners or Sakura Pigma Micron.
- Markers, in case you want to add colors to your drawings. I’d recommend Crayola Super Tips, since they are afordable, come in 100 colors and also can be used for brush lettering.
Ok, now that you have all the supplies, let’s dive into dodoles. I have rendered them and customized them specifically for this post and for convenience I divided them in special categories: cozy drinks, winter clothes, winter animal drawings and general cozy winter things.
Cozy Drinks To Draw
Winter is basically an excuse to drink something warm all day, so let’s start there. These four are mostly ovals, circles, and rectangles, which makes them a perfect warm-up.
Hot Chocolate Drawing

Nothing says winter like a mug of hot chocolate with marshmallows on top. Draw the mug a little chubby and add a tiny heart, and it instantly looks cuter.
How to draw it:
- Draw a flat oval for the rim.
- Add a rounded mug shape under it.
- Draw a C-shaped handle on the side.
- Draw the inner line of the handle.
- Add a curved line inside the rim for the hot chocolate.
- Draw two small square marshmallows on top.
- Add a small heart on the mug.
- Draw two wavy steam lines above.
- Color the mug warm brown, with gray steam.
French Press Drawing

A French press is a rounded rectangle with a dome lid and a small handle, making it one of the easiest cozy drinks to doodle. It’s perfect for slow winter mornings and any page about coffee or routines.
How to draw it:
- Draw a small circle for the knob.
- Add a flat dome lid beneath it.
- Draw a tall, rounded-rectangle body with a small pouring spout on the left.
- Add two tiny feet at the bottom.
- Draw a line across the lower part of the body.
- Add a second line below it for the base band.
- Draw a straight vertical line down the middle for the plunger.
- Add a C-shaped handle on the right.
- Color the lid gray, the glass light blue, the coffee brown, and the handle charcoal.
Tea Cup Drawing

A tea cup is just an oval and a rounded bowl, so it’s a lovely first doodle if you’re new to this. The little tea bag tag is my favorite detail.
How to draw it:
- Draw a wide, flat oval for the rim.
- Add a rounded bowl shape underneath.
- Draw a C-shaped handle on the side.
- Add the inner line of the handle.
- Draw a curved line inside the rim for the tea.
- Add a thin string hanging from the rim.
- Draw a small tag with a heart at the end of the string.
- Add two curly steam lines above.
- Color the cup soft peach and the tea orange.
Tea Kettle Drawing

A kettle is a dome, a spout, and an arched handle, and it adds instant cozy-kitchen vibes. It pairs perfectly with the teacup, so try doodling them side by side.
How to draw it:
- Draw a half circle for the dome.
- Add a thin band along the bottom.
- Draw a short spout on the left.
- Add the opening at the end of the spout.
- Draw a small curved lid on top.

- Draw a big arched handle over the top.
- Add a grip on the handle and a few shine marks on the body.
- Color it mint green with a coral grip.
Winter Clothes Drawing Ideas
Winter clothes are some of the most fun things to doodle, because every piece can have its own color and pattern. They also look adorable on a page together, almost like a little winter wardrobe.

How To Make Your Winter Drawings Look Extra Cute
I gave you al lthe basic tutorials, biut now it’s up to you to turn them into doodles that fit yousr style and aesthetics.
Here are a few small habits that will make all of these winter doodles look more polished, even if you only use one pen.
- Keep them small. Smaller doodles are automatically cuter and fit easily around your journal spreads.
- Add tiny details. A few dots, stripes, or snowflakes make a simple shape look finished.
- Pick a winter palette. Cool blues, whites, and grays with a few warm accents like red and orange feel instantly wintery.
- Try using a light grey color to add shadow to your doodles – it is a very light effect, but it helps make your doodles almosyt pop out of the page. I usually use this grey Tombow pen.
Now here is the best trick I can share with you, but it only works if you draw on top of the pure white paper. If you made a mistake – use a white gel pen (my recommendation is Sakura Gelly Roll) to cover up any small issues. On a pure white paper it will not be seen at all – just give it some time to dry out first.
