When it comes to reading, I think it’s important to have some reading pages because I realised that if I don’t write things in my journal, I forget, be it the plot of the books I’m reading or the main message.
I used to read so much, and yet now I can only say if I read the book or not without actually remembering anything about it.

Stationery recommendations
Let’s have a quick chart about stationery. You definitely can use any pens and markers you already have. But if you’re looking for something extra for your reading pages, I have a few things I’m sure you’ll love.
Here are my recommendations:
- Calliograph pens. They come in beautiful colors and have two brush tips, so you can use them for coloring and for creating different sizes of headers. (you can also get 10% off with my code MASHA10)
- Fineliners. These are the blood of every Bullet Journal page, and I recommend getting these ones.
- Book stencil. An easier and definitely faster way to add book doodles to your Bullet Journal.
- Letter stamps. I feel like it fits so well with all the book pages. And it will allow you to have many fun and unique headers.
Now that you have all your supplies at the ready, check out these pages that you might find useful for your reading journal.
Book Journal Spread Ideas
Book journal is such a fun project, especially if you're an avid reader! There is a huge amount of ideas, and each creator also has their own style and take.
That's why here I didn't just gather different spread ideas, but also made by different creators, so you can see all the variety possible out there.
Check the pages that speak to you, pick decorative elements and styles you enjoy, and get creating!
Let's start with probably the most basic book layout - a bookshelf-style book tracker. This is a creative way to keep a list of all the books you've read, or maybe the books you're planning to read.
I think you always end up doing more if you turn it into a challenge. The same is with reading - turn it into an exciting game and you'll seeyourself reading more.
This layout is to help the creator actually get to and finally start reading all the books on their TBR list.
I think having a visual representation of your achievements is always great, and this is what this layout does. It would definitely make you feel more fired up and motivated to read more!
And I like that the creator also added information on the books and all the ratings.
We've already talked about how fun and useful it can be to turn reading into a bit of a challenge, and if I understood this one correctly, it will also help you explore different genres and authors you would otherwise not know.
If you like reading series, you'd love having this layout. It's always good to know how many books in total there are and how many more you have to fully enjoy the journey.
I love having ratings for things, and yet I often get so confused about how to evaluate things, especially compared to one another.
This creator came up with a simple idea and a genius table on how to evaluate books you're reading. It's a simple and powerful system that will keep your rating consistent across all the books.
It's always easier to keep on doing something if you set certain goals, and this little layout will help you keep track of your own reading goals. I also really like that the creator added color, indicating the months when the books were read.
I love the idea of having a layout with an overview of all the reading adventures you're doing during the year. I like how this creator managed to add so much different information in this one simple page.
A bookshelf-type reading tracker is one of the most popular formats, and here is another take on this layout. I love how many books you can fit here, and that the creator added a little chart with different ratings.
If they assign different colors to different rating it would turn out to be a very fun and colorful layout.
This is a way to track your reading, and I absolutely love this format and the name the creator gave it. That way, they can easily see when, what genre, and how many pages they read.
Plus, in the end, the layout becomes a beautiful, colorful mosaic.
I adore this cozy and comfy layout for monthly reading statistics. I love the style the creator chose; it really looks like it's giving you a hug.
But apart from the design, it's also a very detailed and useful layout with all the information about the reading the creator did during the month. I also really like the little book covers added at the bottom.
I think it's a useful thing to write reviews for the books you've read - it helps you properly remember all the wonderful reading experiences you've had. Plus, by writing, you're also pushing yourself to think deeper about the books and the things you enjoyed about them.
Here is another inspiration for a book series layout. This creator does read a lot of series! I love how this layout is very simple, but its beauty is in the handwriting font that looks incredible. It's a fun idea that the creator used different colors to track different series, so as they go, the layout becomes more colorful.
This is one more bookshelf-style book tracker, and this time it's two pages and has so many beautiful little details to make this layout stand out. I love the gentle colors and the cozy window illustration in the middle.
If you read enough that just having a yearly and monthly reading statistic page is not enough, you can always go for a weekly recap like this one. I like that the creator added little sections for each book, including the cover design.
We all have a list of things we want to read, and here is a layout to remind yourself of all the books you have on your list and push you to start reading. The fact that the creator added a section for "read" and "rating" is a good motivator to get started right away.
Goodreads is a great place for all the bookworms, and they actually hold plenty of challenges to try as you dive deeper into reading. This beautiful withing layout helps you track the reading goals that you set with Goodreads.
