13 Gorgeous Reading Bullet Journal Spreads
Here are some Bullet Journal page ideas for book lovers! If you’re anything like me, your love for books is matched only by your love for stationery and planning.
Combining these two passions in a reading journal is a fantastic way to keep track of your literary adventures, reflect on what you’ve read, and motivate yourself to read even more. Itโs so much more than just a list of books; itโs a creative space to explore your reading life.
This post is packed with inspiration for your reading journal spreads. We will look at different ways to track your reading, create a TBR list that youโll actually use, and design beautiful collection pages for your favorite quotes and series.
Let’s get these pages set up so you can spend more time doing what you loveโreading!

I think reading and journaling are two hobbies that fit so well together! Like they were supposed to be connected.
Reading is an amazing hobby, but what I started noticing is that at some point, it all mixes together, and a lot of fantastic books are getting lost, or the books I should’ve read a while ago are unread and overshadowed by newer releases.
This is why having a reading journal is helpful – it will allow you to bring more joy and organisation to your books.
And before we get into the page ideas, I want to mention that I’ve created a FREE Bullet Journal book tracker that you can print and use in your Bullet Journal right away.

Stationery recommendations
Let’s have a quick chart about stationery. You definitely can use any pens and markers you already have. But if you’re looking for something extra for your reading pages, I have a few things I’m sure you’ll love.
Here are my recommendations:
- Calliograph pens. They come in beautiful colors and have two brush tips, so you can use them for coloring and for creating different sizes of headers. (you can also get 10% off with my code MASHA10)
- Fineliners. These are the blood of every Bullet Journal page, and I recommend getting these ones.
- Book stencil. An easier and definitely faster way to add book doodles to your Bullet Journal.
- Letter stamps. I feel like it fits so well with all the book pages. And it will allow you to have many fun and unique headers.
Now that you have all your supplies at the ready, check out these pages that you might find useful for your reading journal.
Reading Journal Spreads
There are plenty of different ideas out there, and each creator has their own style as well, so there is no limit to the inspiration you can find.
In this blog post, I gathered 13 different pages from different creators, so I'm sure you will find something unique and enjoyable to use in your own journal.
Let's dive in!
Let's start with this layout, which honestly reminds me of a Future Log page you add to your Bullet Journal. But instead of future events, you track there all the new books you're excited for and when they come out.
This is a two-part idea - on one side, you have the books you read, and they are also color-coded depending on the medium. On the other side, you mark how long you've actually been reading every day.
My personal reading pages are much easier - it's usually just a list of books I want to read. But I love making it more creative, so you can see this layout is actually full of doodles. More creativity and less space for books, but if I'm being honest, I don't read as much anymore, so this has an adequate amount of books for me.
Something I think is useful to make is your reading journal, which has a review page for the books you've read.
I noticed for myself, I used to read a lot, and many books I can say I did read, but it's hard to even remember what they were about sometimes. A layout like this will definitely help you not just read but also always remember the book and what it taught you.
Having a to-be-read list is useful for the time you have to pick your next book.
This layout is incredible because of how creative the artist went with it, and my guess here is that the books that are already in color are the ones they read.
I think having statistics for your reading is definitely something that will help you feel a bit prouder about your reading habits and maybe keep up with your reading goals.
I think turning something into a challenge is a good way to make it a bit more fun and light-hearted. So here is a layout for a cute A-Z reading challenge idea. I'm not sure if it 's about the name of the book or the author, but I bet it would definitely take some time to finish this one.
If you like reading series a lot, you should have a page just about those. That way, you always know how far in the series you've read and how many books are still left.
I definitely still struggle to remember how many books of Dune series I actually already finished.
Just as having a yearly overview is a good idea, the same goes for your yearly reading review. This layout is a fun way to write down all your favorites, and not just books, but more detailed things like quotes, characters, endings, and so on.
I'm always up for adding a fun and playful element to your habits, and the same is true for reading. It can also help you choose what book to read next. I know this choice is always a hard one when you want to read 10 books at the same time.
Monthly review is great, especially when it comes to your books. I love that the creator included kittle covers for each book and added a rating as well. Honestly, I'm very impressed by the amount of reading done here!
Goodreads often has fun challenges you can participate in, and it's more fun when you see so many people from all over the world taking part in it. Such things definitely deserve a separate layout.
Whatever you do, it's useful to have some goals set for you, and this creator set some pretty strong reading goals.
And the second part of this idea is to have a clear understanding of how the books are rated. I find it very useful! Personally, I really struggle to rate things because I get overwhelmed and never remember what the criteria are, so a layout like this can be very beneficial!
