Keeping a travel journal is like creating a personalized scrapbook of your adventures, blending planning with the joy of memory keeping. It’s a canvas for your creativity, where each page tells a story of where you’ve been and what you’ve experienced.
The fun lies in the endless possibilities—colorful washi tapes, doodles of famous landmarks, and quirky stickers transform ordinary pages into a vibrant homage to your journeys. Turnming boring and sometimes stressful job of planning a vacation to a fun and creative activity.
Beyond just mapping out itineraries, a travel journal captures those spontaneous moments and cherished memories that make each trip unique.
The ideas I’ll be sharing today would work for both a separate travel journal to plan and enjoy your adventures, or just soemthing special to add to your day to day Bulelt Journla to ensure that everything with your trip goes smoothly.

Stationery Recommendations
Before we look at the pages themselves, I wanted to talk about stationery and some supplies you might find useful when planning your trips. There’s a lot of stationery out there, so it’s easy to get lost and get the things you won’t like using or that are not good quality.
These are some of my top recommendations that are perfect for your travel journaling but work perfectly for your usual Bullet Journal as well.
- A journal. You’ll need a journal for all your travel pages. You can use a usual journal, like my favorite Archer And Olive notebooks (use code MASHA10 for 10% OFF), or you can do something more like a refillable travel notebook.
- Sakura Pigma Fineliners – these are a staple for creating any Bullet Journal spread. Their black archival ink and many different nib sizes will allow you to create stunning and elaborate pages.
- Tombow Fude Brush Pen – These small tip brush pens are universal. You can create elaborate brush lettering and beautiful headers or just use them for drawing.
- Markers. You probably want to add some colors to your pages, and I recommend choosing a few of your favorite markers. For me, it’s absolutely Zebra Mildliners.
With all your stationery ready, let’s dive into different pages you can create for an epic adventure!
Travel Bullet Journal Spread Ideas
There are so many ideas you can use for your travel journey. Actually, anything you can think of can be a travel Bullet Journal spread, so this list can be almost never-ending.
However, I want things to be manageable, so here I found 13 ideas for you. I'm sure these will show you some of the possibilities and let your creative juices flow and come up with something unique for you.
Starting with a very useful page - things to do during your trip. I like that the creator included not just places to visit but also things to eat and drink.
I think each country and each place has its own unique and delicious food and drinks, so it would be fun to try those out while visiting.
I think having a countdown page is very useful for your travels. It helps you to build anticipation, but it also allows you to see clearly every day how much time you have left to finish all the preparations before you leave.
If you're an avid traveler, it might generally be a fun idea to have a tracker and see all the places you've visited, especially if you have a big goal of what and how many places you want to see.
I love that his tracker is visual with the map of the world; I love the idea of coloring the countries as you travel around the world.
When you travel, your days are so full of emotion and events that often, when you're back home, you can't even remember all these things. Having a small daily journaling session will help you remember better each little moment and all the cute things that made you smile
And I know it might be a bit hard to spend time when you travel to set up your daily journaling pages. But you can pre-made those in advance.
Obviously, a packing list is a must-have page for traveling. You never want to find yourself without something important and needing to urgently run around trying to find an alternative in this new, unknown country. Yes, I'm speaking from experience.
I love the idea of not just creating a huge packing list but dividing it into different categories.
I already mentioned how many memories from our trips are getting lost, and let's be honest, how often do you actually look back at the pictures on your phone?
If you create a memory page like this one, you won't just ensure that the memory sits deeper in your mind but also create something that will keep all the titbits of adventure on that page you will look at more often than your phone.
It's always a fantastic idea to have a page with all the important information about your trip on one page. For this particular spread, I also really love that the creator also made a plan for all the outfits!
Traveling is not a cheap thing to do, so it might be pretty useful to have a savings tracker to allow you to bring all your wildest travel dreams to reality.
I often find that unless we prioritize something and plan it, it never happens. So, if you want to travel more, you can always start saving bit by bit and eventually; ly go on your dream trip.
The world is large, and there are so many amazing places to visit that you gotta concentrate on your most desired destinations. That's why having a travel bucket list is a fantastic idea
It can help you realize what are the places you want to visit the most and start thinking about how to get there for a vacation.
For me, music is an important part of traveling; it helps me create the right mood for the trip. But even more than that, music is a great way to cement your memories. Every time I hear a song I was listening to on a certain trip, the memories come rushing.
I love this idea of creating a playlist for your trip even before you go on it.
Foror is an important part of your travels, and it's a pleasure to enjoy all the exquisite food the new place has to offer.
I love the idea of creating a list of foods and restaurants to visit during the trip so you enjoy all the delicious food instead of ending up getting a sandwich from 7-11 because you are hungry and can't spend any more time trying to find a place to eat at.
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of creating a detailed plan for each day of my vacation. I prefer to have a list of things I could do and decide on the day what to do and what I feel like exploring.
But other people might disagree with my style, and for you, here is an example of a pretty travel itinerary with some extra information about the country.
Another fun way you can put all your memories on paper is by doodling them. And I find that this is a much more fun and creative way to keep memories of all the best times you've had during your vacation.
I like that on this page, the creator only used one black one, which shows you how you can create incredible things with just one pen.
