Traveling is a wonderful way to experience the world around us, and I know for sure it deserves special treatment, like using some special travel Bullet Journal page ideas.
I know for some, it might seem like it’s an extra step to add to your trip that is not that necessary, so before we look into the pages, let’s talk about the benefits of actually having a travel journal.
And before I forget, be sure to check the end of the post for some FREE printable travel journal pages that you can print and start using right away!
Benefits of Having a Travel Journal
Keeping a travel journal isn’t just about jotting down where you went and what you did. It’s like having a personal time machine that whisks you back to the exact moment you tried that unforgettable street food in Bangkok or discovered a hidden gem in Paris.
Here are some fantastic benefits of maintaining a travel journal:
- Memory Keeping
Ever found yourself struggling to recall the name of that quirky coffee shop in Rome? A travel journal helps preserve those precious details, so you don’t have to rely on your (often unreliable) memory. Years from now, you can flip through your journal and relive your adventures with crystal clarity.
- Creativity Boost
Traveling is all about new experiences, and capturing these moments creatively can be incredibly fulfilling. Drawing quirky sketches, pasting ticket stubs, or designing vibrant layouts can turn your journal into a work of art. Plus, it’s a great way to decompress and reflect on your day.
- Personal Growth
Reflecting on your travels helps you gain insights into different cultures and, more importantly, yourself. Writing about your adventures allows you to process experiences, understand your reactions, and recognize how travel shapes your worldview—one journal entry at a time.
- Practical Planning Tool
A travel journal isn’t just for reminiscing; it’s also practical. Use it to plan itineraries, jot down must-visit spots, and track your budget. With a well-organized travel journal layout, you’ll always have your trip essentials at your fingertips, making your journeys smoother and more enjoyable.
I hope this was enough reason for you to be sure you want to create a travel journal, and I am excited to start creating the pages.
So let’s get to planning!

Stationery Recommendations
There’s a lot of stationery out there, so it’s easy to get lost and get the things you won’t like using or that are not good quality.
So, before we dive into the pages, here are some stationery recommendations!
- A journal. You’ll need a journal for all your travel pages. You can use a usual journal, like my favorite Archer And Olive notebooks (use code MASHA10 for 10% OFF), or you can do something more like a refillable travel notebook.
- Sakura Pigma Fineliners – these are a staple for creating any Bullet Journal spread. Their black archival ink and many different nib sizes will allow you to create stunning and elaborate pages.
- Tombow Fude Brush Pen – These small tip brush pens are universal. You can create elaborate brush lettering and beautiful headers or just use them for drawing.
- Markers. You probably want to add some colors to your pages, and I recommend choosing a few of your favorite markers. For me, it’s absolutely Zebra Mildliners.
With all your stationery ready, let’s dive into travel journal page inspirations and find the perfect ideas for you.
