Bullet Journal May Cover Page Ideas
Bullet Journal cover page ideas are a perfect way to set the tone for a new month and showcase the theme you’re planning to use that month.
With its blooming flowers, warmer days, and that sweet hint of summer on the horizon, May is bursting with creative inspiration. Whether you’re into floral themes, minimalist vibes, or bold, colorful spreads, there’s a world of possibilities to explore.
Creating your May cover page will help you set the theme and feel you want to bring to that month. In this blog post, I’ll share some cover pages to help inspire your setup.
I love creating cover pages, they are such a perfect way to divide your journal entries and show the beginning of the new month.
A cover page is also the only page I can think of where you can be purely creative without worrying about the functionality.
And because anything can be a Bullet Journal theme, there is so much you can do with your cover page, so many mediums, styles, and designs to explore! To help you not be too overwhelmed by all the possibilities, I gathered a few inspirations here.

Stationery Recommendations
Before we look at the cover pages, let me share a few stationery recommendations. After all, you need some supplies to create your cover pages, and I think good stationery makes it more fun.
Here are some of my favorite supplies:
- Fineliners. These are the blood of your every page. My recommendation is to use Sakura Pigma Micron ones.
- Markers. To add color to your journal, and my favorites are Tombow Dual Brush Pens or maybe Crayola Super Tips which are more budget-friendly.
- Brush pen. These are great for creating headers, especially if it’s a small tip brush pen. My go-to is Tombow Fude.

I think photography is a beautiful theme, and I love how easy it is to doodle cameras. Plus, as you can see on this cover page, you can definitely pair cameras with other things like florals,
I love this cover page and the beautiful, bright colors the creator used for the doodles. Succulents and cacti are an exciting theme; you get to play around so much with shapes and colors!
I'm always up for using fruits as a theme, and here is a beautiful example of creating an apple theme. I love that the creator added apple flowers to the mix as well.
You can definitely use your favorite game as a theme for your cover page. In 2020, we were all playing Animal Crossing, so it is the theme I chose for May that year.
I love the creativity of this cover page, the creator matched a beautiful drawing of a fascinating outfit with other types of paper, and every time I see kraft paper, I'm automatically in love!
I don't know anything about camping, but it does make a beautiful cover page, and I love the color combination the creator used for this layout.
For me, this would probably be more of a summer theme, but the beauty of Bullet Journaling is that you decide what theme you create, so if you feel like using a tropical theme in summer, go for it. Nobody can tell you what to do or not to do in your journal.
This cover page looks absolutely stunning, and I'm in love with the bright and happy colors the creator used for these sellable drawings.
Spring is famously a season for enjoying cherry blossoms, so why not bring this theme to your Bullet Journal? It's also a wonderful reason to take out all the shades of pink in your collection.
This particular design is for a Game of Thrones theme, but it can be any fantasy theme with dragons. Generally, this is a fun idea - bring your favorite fantasy TV show or series of books as a theme in your journal.
I'm not sure exactly what the theme is, but the cover page looks beautiful, and the drawings are somehow extra cute! I also love that the creator almost made it like a framed picture.
Flowers are always wonderful and a perfect thing to decorate your Bullet Journal pages. And there are so many flowers you can draw and so many approaches to take. I love how, in this cover page, for example, the creator went for black and white with just tiny color accents.
This cover page looks incredible, like the beginning of a very old traditional fairy tale book, with how intricate and decorated the letter M is. I love the creativity behind this design.
This cover page really makes baking seem super fun, colorful, and exciting! Which might be for some people, but for me personally, it's a fun thing to doodle and not fun to actually bake.
Last but not least is this stunning and stylish cover page that brought the aesthetics of skin care and makeup. Beautiful and very creative!
