Stationery Recommendations
Before we get to the ideas, let’s have a quick chat about some supplies that will help you not just create beautiful layouts, but also have more fun while doing it.
You can definitely use anything you already have, but if you’re looking for more, I’d recommend starting here:
- Fineliners. You’ll need them to create all the pages, and they are especially great for doodling and drawing. I recommend trying Sakura Pigma Micron.
- Markers. In case you want to add some color, you’ll need some. I recommend starting with Crayola Super Tips since they come in so many colors and are pretty affordable. My second choice would probably be these Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
- Brush Pens. These are perfect for creating beautiful headers, and I’d recommend starting with Tombow Fude small brush pens.
- Stencils. If you want to speed up the process, you can always try out these planner stencils, which have a lot of planning elements, as well as some decorative elements. Using this, you can create pretty and decorative pages in no time.
Now that you have all the pens and markers you need, let’s dive in and look at some summer Bullet Journal ideas.
Bullet Journal Summer Ideas
In this blog post I gathered for you 15 ideas from differnet creators, so you don't just get to see different pages and themed, but also different styles.
Pick elements and ideas that resonate with you, and you'll be on your way to creating your own unique layouts.
Let's dive in!
Let's start with a theme idea—lavender. It's beautiful and pretty simple to recreate.
Here, I personally really love that apart from just using purple pens, the creator also used washi tape and colorful paper in the matching color.
I think music is a perfect way to set up the mood or bring you back to old memories. SO, having a playlist page for the month or maybe the entire summer is definitely a great idea.
Staycations are a great way to unplug and change things up a bit; you can really disconnect and recharge completely. So why not create a page that will help you plan a great staycation and use it to its fullest?
Fireflies are a perfect theme for summer, and I love how this cover page uses gold watercolor to actually recreate the light coming off them. For me, this automatically created a summer feeling.
Whether you're planning a trip for this summer or just want to finally use ALL the clothes you have stashed in your wardrobe, this page will help you create unique and beautiful outfits and always look your best.
The tropical theme is perfect for summer, and you can approach it in any way you want. I chose to draw different tropical leaves, which was very simple and fun.
This is a cute and well-organized monthly log, but also an idea on how you can incorporate the under-the-sea theme in your Bullet Journal this summer.
You really don't have to create a specific theme for your summer pages; you can just decorate them randomly with different summer-themed doodles, like this incredible weekly layout.
Bucket list is a great way to remind yourself of all the things you enjoy doing and make sure you make time for such activities, so why not create one for your summer as well?
Summer is the perfect time to take up reading and go outside, sit in the park, and enjoy the book and the weather. So it's an interesting idea to participate in a challenge and try to read more.
I absolutely adore this layout idea. I think we do spend way too much time on screen, so it would be a great reminder to have all the things you can enjoy outside.
Doodles are some of the best and most fun (if you ask me) way to decorate your Bullet Journal pages, so I wanted to include on this list some ideas for summer doodles. And considering flowers are some of the most popular doodles to draw, I found for you this incredible tutorial.
Summer is all about delicious and refreshing drinks, so it's no wonder you can bring them into your Bullet Journal with this layout. Write down the recipe for your favorite drink so you can enjoy it next summer as well.
But truthfully, not all your pages must be helpful or functional; you can create just something for fun or that would bring you joy, like this sweet reminder of all the wonderful things you enjoy about the season.
Here is another monthly layout, or is it a cover page? I'm not sure. Either way, this theme just screams summer, and I thought it would be perfect to finish this list with.
And there you go, here are plenty of different ideas and inspirations to help you create the most stunning and fun pages this summer.
