Fall Themes To Try In Your Bullet Journal
I have been Bullet Journaling since 2018, so I tried plenty of themes, and some of them will definitely be included here on this list.
However, I don’t necessarily get inspired only by the seasons, so just my pages aren’t enough; therefore, I’ve featured pages from plenty of other talented creators as well.
Fall has its own colors and aesthetics. It’s all about being cozy and nature blooming with colors. Plus, of course, all the holidays we get to celebrate during the season. So there is a lot to play with for a Fall theme!
Let’s dive in and find you a theme idea to try in your Bullet Journal.
Coffee Bullet Journal Theme
Having a cup of hot coffee while enjoying a good book at your favorite coffee shop is a perfect way to spend a chilly fall day, so this is a perfect time. As you can see, I went with my usual doodling bright style for this setup.
I like this theme idea because you can make it as easy or as elaborate as you want to. You can pick one coffee doodle and just repeat it over and over again if you’re looking for something simple.
For a more elaborate approach, here is what I did: every page of that monthly setup has a different type of coffee (think latte, cappuccino, macchiato).
Gilmore Girls Theme
You can’t argue that Gilmore Girls is a perfect show for fall! And there are so many interesting and creative ways you can bring this theme to your Bullet Journal!
This creator chose the most iconic place in Stars Hollow for their cover page!
Bullet Journal Fall Theme
I absolutely love how the creator brought a fall theme into their Bullet Journal. From the fall-themed photos to the use of craft paper, this theme screams of coziness and chilly evenings with a warm blanket.
I often find that creating a little grid like a pegboard design helps make the page look more fun. I used the same principle several times in my own journla and it really is a quick way to elevate your layouts.
Kraft Paper Theme
Speaking of Kraft paper, I think it’s an amazing way to make your pages stand out and feel cozier. This is exactly what I did for this theme; I just added a few fall-themed doodles and cool colors to match the season.
In case you’re wondering how I created the header – I printed the words ” November ” on kraft paper, then used my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out. It took a bit of effort, but once the headers became the main decoration for the whole monthly setup, I barely had anything else to draw.
Nature Theme
Fall is one of the most beautiful seasons in nature, so it’s definitely a wonderful theme to explore. I love how this creator contrasted oranges with dark black, giving it a bit of a spooky feel.
Book Bullet Journal Theme
I always had a special place in my heart for reading during the fall. There is just something special about having your hot cup of tea and enjoying a good book while wrapped in a fuzzy blanket.
As you can see on this page, it is very easy to create a specific seasonal mood simply by using the right colors. The colors the creator used for this theme scream of golden fall leaves.
Fall Aesthetics Theme
For me, fall is a whole aesthetic, with its special activities, colors, and extra feeling. I think this theme absolutely encapsulates what I’m talking about.
This is also a fantastic way to use all of your stickers. As long as they are in the same aesthetic, you can use them all on your Bullet Journal pages, and it will look like one coherent theme.
Pumpkin Coffee Theme
Who can deny that the most fall thing out there is a pumpkin-spiced latte? So why not use it as an inspiration and bring your love for fall coffee to your Bullet Journal pages?
I’m not sure how the rest of the month looks in this journal, but I think you can just take that doodle of a pumpkin coffee and run with it to build the entire monthly setup around it.
Mushroom Bullet Journal Theme
Mushrooms are a very seasonal and super fun theme to explore. With mushrooms, there are so many ways you can draw them and use so many different colors!
The fun thing about this theme is how many different approaches you can take. You can go more doodly and add expressions to your mushrooms as this creator did, or you could go and draw your mushrooms more realistically.
Cozy Baking Bullet Journal Theme
I can’t bake to save my life, but Fall usually brings those delicious pie smells, and so I wanted to create a baking theme in my Bullet Journla instead.
To make the setup a bit more interesting, I approached it a bit differently. Instead of coloring each doodle, I picked one color for each page and used it to color small details on every doodle. And then I outlined the doodles with a thicker black pen.
Autumn Lights Theme
Something you can do with a theme is just play around with the colors. You can see this weekly spread is mostly about those bright oranges and yellows that fit so well with the season.
Shelby is an incredible watercolor artist, and you can see clearly on this page how good she is at playing with colors and creating something bright and exciting.
Fall Picnic
If it’s not too cold wherever you live, like here in Portugal, fall is a perfect season to have a picnic – it’s not too hot, but it’s not too cold either – perfect to enjoy outside the entire day without getting sunburned or heat stroke.
So this theme is a perfect Fall for me!
This creator also used pencils for the colors, helping create a softer, cozier feeling for the theme without any straight lines or harsh corners.
Watercolor Fall Theme
Watercolor is an amazing medium, and considering how many amazing colors you can make by mixing and matching, it’s a perfect medium to explore in fall.
As you can see on this page, watercolors can create such bright, vivid colors! Plus, with the help of some mixing, you can also make something that looks exactly like the golden fall leaves.
Pumpkin Bullet Journal Theme
Pumpkins are absolutely the most Fall thing that can possibly be there, so of course I had to include this idea on this list.
This creator used watercolor to create bright colors and went for the traditional pumpkin designs, but there are many other ways you can do it.
You can play around with the shapes of the pumpkins more; after all, they can come in many different shapes depending on the pumpkin type. You can also play around with colors, from bright oranges to muted greens.
Basically, this is a perfect theme because it can be very simple to draw and it gives you a lot of possibilities to customize it to your own aesthetic.
Pies Bullet Journal Theme
Last but not least is this beautiful inspiration for a pie theme and the whole entire cozy kitchen. I absolutely adore the bright and warm colors the artist used!
This is obviously a very heavy watercolor theme, so it makes sense to me that the creator used a watercolor-specific journal to avoid ghosting or bleeding through the pages.
Usually a 160 GSM paper is enough, but if you’re planning very heavy watercolor illustrations like this cover page, a thicker paper would definitely be a better idea.
Stationery Recommendations
Let’s talk about stationery. After all, this is the fastest way to make creative and fun Bullet Journal pages.
Here are my favorites, especially for Fall themes:
- Sakura Pigma Micron – a great fineliner is a must-have for any Bullet Journal spread, and these are some of the best for sure!
- Tombow Dual Brush Pens – they have a lot of beautiful colors, including different shades of orange and other Fall beauties. Plus, they are great for adding color and brush lettering!

- Washi Tape – there are many wonderful washi tapes out there, and you can definitely find some that would fit our aesthetics, but I think these ones are something special and always add style to Fall-themed pages.
