Sometimes, even the most dedicated BuJo lovers can feel stuck in a creativity rut. That’s where a little inspiration can go a long way.

In this post, I gathered some fun and creative pages I used in my journal, and I’m sure these inventive Bullet Journal layouts will make you fall in love with your journal all over again.

Whether you’re aiming for organization, a mental refresh, or just something new to try, these ideas are designed to spark your creativity and help you get the most out of your journaling time.

The Bullet Journal method is really out of this world, because it can be anything you want. The number of ideas you can use is quite literally limited only by your imagination.

But even so, such an amount of ideas can be overwhelming, so we often pick a few magic pages and simply keep on using them over and over again.

There is nothing wrong with that, as long as these layouts work for you. But it can get a bit stale and boring as time goes on.

And you definitely want to keep journaling existing, otherwise this new habit can become a chore and get forgotten, and with it you would lose all the benefits you can get from having a Bullet Journal.

Whether you’re looking for some page ideas to freshen up your Bullet Journal or just to get motivated to keep on going, in this post, I gathered 13 different ideas that will surely inspire!

And be sure to scroll until the end to get some FREE printables and more page ideas for you to experiment with.

Stationery Recommendations

Before we look at the pages, let’s have a quick look at some stationery. After all, I believe using the good quality supplies you love always helps make it more fun and enjoyable.

  • Fineliners. These are the basis for every Bullet Journal page and your faithful companions in the world of journaling. My top recommendation is the Sakura Pigma Micron, which also comes in different nib sizes, allowing for a variety of line thicknesses.
  • Brush pens. Brush pens are perfect for adding brush lettering to your Bullet Journal pages, drawing, or even adding color. I would recommend the Tombow Fude brush pen for a smaller brush tip and the Tombow Dual Brush for a larger brush tip and significantly more colors.
  • Stencils. Stencils are a great way to add decorative or functional elements to your Bullet Journal pages quickly. These stencils are my favorite that cover creating all types of pages.
  • Markers. Finally, as a huge fan of all things colorful, I wanted to share my favorite markers – Zebra Mildliners and Crayola Super Tips.

Ok, enough stationery talk. Let’s dive into the meat of the post, and let me share some layout ideas for you to try right away!

Inventive Bullet Journal Layouts

Yes, Bullet Journaling is such a powerful tool to help you get things done, be productive, and achieve your goals. But it can be so much more.

It can help you with mental health, self-care, or general creative expression.

But more than that, there is no reason why you have to only create pages that are useful for your personal growth. It’s totally fine to create some ideas that are just fun and enjoyable.

So today I’ll share a mix of those, some of these layouts are just super fun to create, while others have plenty of other benefits. The best way to know which of these to try is to experiment and see which brings you the most joy.

Let’s dive in!

Things To Try

First is the little layout with something you want ot try. It can be anything, from food to hobbies.

It was definitely a fun layout to create, but it can also give you some ideas on new hobbies to try.

We are often stuck with our day-to-day routines and responsibilities, creating a layout like this one can help you step out of it for a while and brainstorm how you can make your days richer and varied.

Memory Keeping Page

Memory-keeping pages are definitely my favorite ones, so much so that I actually have a separate journal just for these.

It’s a great experience to sit down and try to remember all the wonderful things that happened to you. Plus, I can guarantee you will look back at these pages more often than at the photos app on your phone.

I try to always add photos to my memory keeping pages, and if you want a recommendation for a printer – I’m using an HP Sprocket. The quality is good enough, and the photo paper comes with a sticker side so you can easily add it straight to your journal page.

Things That Make Me Happy

This is one of the most fun and inspiring pages to create. It helps you think of all the good things you have in your life.

After all, it’s a combination of the little things that helps us build a happy and smiling mood every day.

This layout can also be helpful when you’re feeling down and in need of some support. Look at this list and see what kind of things you can do for yourself that would bring you joy.

Habit Tracker Ideas

As somebody who loves being creative in their journal, I find that a layout like this is both fun and useful.

It can force you to get extra creative and think outside the box, as well as be a good reference point for any future layouts you’ll be creating.

Doodling Page

Just like with planning elements, creating doodling pages can be fun, functional, and inspiring.

First of all, it’s a great way to hone your doodling skills. Secondly, it’s a fun way to spend time and to be creative.

Even more than this, the layout of this page can be a good idea and reference for future Bullet Journal themes. Like this particular spread was definitely an inspiration when I sat down to create a sushi Bullet Journal theme.

Favorite Drinks

This could work for both your food and drink choices, but I decided to create a layout for my favorite hot drinks.

It was a pleasure to create a layout like this one, and it’s a good reminder for drinks that maybe I don’t really have that often, like I haven’t remembered the last time I had some hot chocolate!

Pen Swatch

Pen swatch pages are a great way for you to see on paper the pen collection. After all, your pens can be hidden in your table drawers, but if you just look at the pen swatch page, you can clearly see ALL the colors available to you.

Even more so, all journals have different paper colors that can affect how the colors look, so it’s a great tool to ensure that whatever color you use, it will be exactly what you want.

I also like doing swatch pages because they help me practice doodling with some of my favorite pens and markers.

Energy Replenish

Yes, I do know I misspelled the word “replenish,” and I am trying to pay more attention, but once I get in the creative mood, the letters become just drawings and I don’t notice until it’s too late.

Either way, this idea is a great way to brainstorm things that can help you feel better on days when you just can’t seem to do anything.

For me, this layout was also very important because it allowed me to divide different activities into different categories, and so I started being more mindful of what kind of things I need.

Habits To Develop

By now, we all know that it’s our daily habits that help us build the life we want. So it might be an interesting idea to brainstorm what kind of habits your ideas “you” would have.

Of course, just like for everything, you can create a separate layout in your Bullet Journal for this.

Just putting things on paper is already a powerful first step towards a better you, and it is a fun way to brainstorm and check up on yourself in terms of what kind of person you want to be.

Bullet Journal Theme Ideas

But back to purely fun pages – this is a layout with some theme ideas to try during the year.

Personally, I like letting it flow and picking the themes as the year goes by, depending on what I feel like.

But there is always such an overwhelming choice that sometimes it might be a good idea to pre-plan it, or at least to have a list of some ideas to choose from.

And yes, this can be just a simple list, but I always love going the extra mile, so I added doodles representing each theme as well.

Wish List

I truly believe that just defining your wishes already helps you bring them a little step closer. And this layout is a fun one to create as well, so why not indulge yourself?

This can definitely be a fun reference for next time you decide to treat yourself or if your friends need to find a gift idea for you.

It’s also pretty fun to look back at these layouts. This particular wish list was created in 2021 or so, and it’s interesting to me to look back and see what my wishes were back then.

Productive Day Tips

Some days you just “enable to can” and for days like these, I created this little motivational layout.

It can help remind you of some things that can make you feel better and more productive. Cause once you hit the slump, it’s too easy to just stay a couch potato, hoping it will pass (speaking from experience).

My Favorite Podcasts

Last but not least on this list is the layout with my favorite podcasts. As an avid podcast listener, I’m always on the lookout for something new to listen to.

A layout like this one can help you get ideas for some new episodes to listen to. And I don’t know if you noticed, but there I also divided these by different groups, each with its own topic.

And there you go, here are thirteen random but innovative Bullet Journal layouts that I think you’ll enjoy both using and creating in your BuJo.
