Stationery Recommendations
Just because you don’t need too many supplies to create minimalist Bullet Journal pages doesn’t mean you don’t need any supplies.
Here are a few recommendations perfect for minimalist style pages:
- Fineliners. For any Bullet Journal page, be it minimalist or artistic, you need a good set of fineliners. I recommend getting Sakura Pigma Micron pens, which also come in a set of different nib sizes, providing a wide variety of line thicknesses.
- Tombow Fudenosuke. This brush pen is very easy to master and is perfect for adding brush lettering to your Bullet Journal pages. These pens are also great for drawing if you feel like adding some minimalist decorations.
- Monochrome Brush Pens. For a great variety of monochrome colors, you can’t go wrong with Tombow Dual Brush monochrome set. Great for coloring as well as for brush lettering.
- Writing pen. You’ll need a good writing pen, and there are so many to choose from! I recommend getting Muji pens because they create beautiful thin lines and look aesthetic as well.

Minimalist Bullet Journal Cover Page Ideas
Just because something is minimalist doesn't mean it is boring or not decorated, and I'm sure after looking at these beautiful cover pages you'll see how varied this style can be.
Here I gathered 13 different cover pages from different creators, each having their own unique idea on what a minimalist theme is.
Let's dive in and find you a perfect inspiration for your future setup.
We are starting with this beautiful December cover page. I love how the creator only used the shadow of the letter and didn't actually outline the letter itself.
The stippling effect on teh page also looks amazing, even though I can't imagine how long this must've take to fill out the entire page.
A cute and minimalist way to add a bit of spark to your cover page is by adding small doodles. In this cover page the creator added two little butterflies and it looks adorable.
This cover page is for a reading journal and it has this minimalist look while also being decorated with washi tape and a sticker. Together with cute handwriting, it looks aesthetic and very minimalist.
Creating a large letter for your cover page is a great trick for a minialist layout, and adding little lavender doodles is just a cute way to make it a bit different.
A beautiful lettering can create a stylish look for your pages, and in case of minimalist theme it can be a complete theme on itself.
A beautiful way to keep it minimalist but add decorations is to combine beautiful handlettering with some simple botanical doodles.
This creator, however, went even a little bit further and created a little dutch door as well.
Another interesting way to add some extra to your cover page is by using geometric patterns. With a ruler it's pretty easy to create, you just need to be careful and repeat the pattern the same way every time.
This cover page would be perfect with just a little faux calligraphy in the middle, however the creator did add a little fram of cotton doodles. Since they are still very subtle I think this still counts as a minimalist cover page.
As I mentioned before, a great way to add a bit of decoration to your minimalist cover pages is to draw little doodles. I like that they are so tiny and that the creator went with small doodles in balck and white. It helped to keep the theme minimalist while also decorating it.
One of the reasons why I could never do minimalism is that the concept here is less is more; it's all about having plenty of blank space.
This cover page is a wonderful example of that concept, where the whole design is just the name of the month.
I love this cover page and that the creator used grayscale markers to add some character and variety to the color palette but without making it stand out too much. It's also a cute little idea to add a little quote.
A great font can be a wonderful decoration for your cover page, but I definitely can agree that creating such a perfect, straight-looking font is extremely difficult. That's why I recommend you try using something like stamps or stencils.
I personally love these lettering stencils. And if bond fonts are not your style, there are also plenty other types of font stencils in this shop.
I love this simple cover page and how it's minimalist but also pretty decorative. This is also a fanntastic example of how you can create an incredible cover page with just one ballpoint pen.
