Stationery Recommendations
You might be able to create a minimalist weekly spread with just one black pen, but there are still more pens that can help you make it a bit more varied and have more fun doing it.
Here are a few recommendations perfect for minimalist style pages:
- Fineliners. For any Bullet Journal page, be it minimalist or artistic, you need a good set of fineliners. I recommend getting Sakura Pigma Micron pens, which also come in a set of different nib sizes, providing a wide variety of line thicknesses.
- Tombow Fudenosuke. This brush pen is very easy to master and is perfect for adding brush lettering to your Bullet Journal pages. These pens are also great for drawing if you feel like adding some minimalist decorations.
- Monochrome Brush Pens. For a great variety of monochrome colors, you can’t go wrong with Tombow Dual Brush monochrome set. Great for coloring as well as for brush lettering.
- Writing pen. You’ll need a good writing pen, and there are so many to choose from! I recommend getting Muji pens because they create beautiful thin lines and look aesthetic as well.
Now that you have all the supplies let’s get inspired by some amazing weekly spreads!
Minimalist Weekly Log Bullet Journal Inspirations
As simple as minimalist style is, it doesn't mean that it can't give you a wide variety of different aesthetics and ways to set up a minimalist weekly layout.
Here I gathered pages from 15 different creators, each using a bit different supplies and approaching minimalist differently, so I'm pretty sure you'll be able to find here something that sparks your imagination.
Let's dive in and help you create your own perfect minimalist weekly slog.
Let's start with this absolutely stunning weekly spread. It has a pretty simple design, but by adding a bit of craft paper and using a beautiful font, it really turned into something very special.
One of the original ways to plan is to plan as you go, so you every day assign an area for planning and you use as much space as you want that day. This weekly spread is an example of that. As you can see, every day, the creator divided the day and made a small header to plan that day specifically.
Here is an example of two weekly spreads; both are one page weekly. I think they are very convenient when you don't need too much space for planning, or maybe if you use a journal that is large enough to fit all your planning.
I don't think you can go any more minimalist than this layout. It is very simple, but it's super functional and provides all you need to plan a productive week.
Sometimes, something simple, like a bit of color and brush lettering, can be enough to add style and beauty to your Bullet Journal page.
Here is one more example of a one-page weekly spread, and I love how the creator used geometric shapes to add more interest and creativity. I bet a circle tracker like this helix one would be so useful here!
Minimalism is all about utilizing empty space, and I think this layout is a great example of it. The handwriting here is also almost like a special decorative element!
A simple way to add something to your minimalist layout is to use greyscale colors here. The creator used grey for the header and for adding shadows to the daily boxes.
A great way to add some decoration to your minimalist page is to use tiny doodles or stickers. This is undoubtedly a minimalist spread, but you still see that there are these cute little mushrooms creating a theme.
This is a minimalist one page weekly spread, and yet the creator added this little floral doodle at the top to keep the monthly theme. Generally I think any floral and botanical doodles can be a perfect addition to your minimalist pages.
This is such a simple weekly spread; the creator didn't even use any lines to create daily boxes. And yet it's so beautiful and well organized. I really love the font the creator used for the dates.
Geometric patterns are a great way to add a bit more decoration and interest to your pages. In this case, I think it is also possible that the creator made a weekly spread first and then, as the week went, added the geometric pattern at the back.
Here is another weekly spread, and the creator managed to add so many different elements here! I like that for each daily box, there is a little area with the time, so you can plan your day in time blocks. It's not necessarily something I use all the time, but it can be very useful for certain days.
This is a weekly spread that is a bit different. You write a big task list on one side, and then each day on the left, you ark which of the tasks you made. It can be a useful format for some, and it's perfect for quick and easy weekly planning.
Last but not least is this pretty simple weekly spread. Here, again, is a wonderful example of how much variety and fut you can add to your journal with just a little bit of kraft paper.
