My Favorite Bullet Journaling Supplies
Bullet Journal supplies can make or break your planning experience. After years of trial, error, and way too many impulse purchases at the stationery store, I’ve finally discovered the tools that actually work.
You know that feeling when your pen bleeds through pages or your ruler won’t stay straight? I’ve been there – frustrated, disappointed, and ready to give up on the whole system. But here’s what I’ve learned: the right Bullet Journaling supplies don’t just make your spreads look prettier (though they definitely do that). They make the entire process smoother, more enjoyable, and sustainable.
In this post, I’m sharing the supplies that have earned permanent spots on my desk – the ones I reach for again and again because they consistently deliver. These aren’t the most expensive options or the trendiest picks. They’re simply the tools that work.

To be very clear, all you really need for Bullet Journal is just one pen and any notebook. But if you’re here, we’re probably in the same boat, where we will never be satisfied with just that, always looking for something better that could jolt the creative juices as well as make the process easier.
I had a very expensive collection of stationery, enough to fill the entire room! And the only reason it’s in the past tense is because when I moved across the ocean, I had to say goodbye to most of it.
But in a way, it was a good thing; it helped me prioritise my supplies and really pick only the best items I use all the time, and these are the ones I’ll be sharing here.
And once more, disclaimer – all these supplies are from Etsy, which is my favorite place to shop for stationery since they always have something fun, original, and interesting that you can’t find anywhere else.
So there won’t be any basic things, but there will be plenty of fun, practical, and well-designed supplies I reach out for every day.
And be sure you scroll until the end to get my FREE Ultimate Guide To Bullet Journal Supplies that will help you pick and get only the best supplies that fit your journaling style and your planning needs.

My Favorite Bullet Journaling Supplies
Since I don’t believe in having too many supplies, I have plenty of recommendations for you, so let’s categorize them.
And if you don’t find here the category you’re looking for, be sure you check the end of the post for more recommendations and stationery finds. Putting it all in just one post is almost impossible!
Pens & Markers
First and foremost, let’s talk about pens and markers. Yes, you get a lot of them from Amazon, but Etsy sellers offer a lot of things you can’t find there.
My favorite pens are always from Japan, and it’s so much easier to find them here. So, here are some of them that I know you’ll love using as well.

Uniball Hobonichi Techo Pens – this is my favorite pen I’ve ever owned. It’s smooth and nice, and even though it has several colors, it’s still very small and aesthetic. Plus, the grid is very comfortable, which is an important part of a writing pen.
Unfortunately, a friend of mine sat down and broke the pen, the tragedy that almost ended my friendship! The same color I have is not available anymore, but they release the same pen in new colors every year, so you can still get the same fantastic quality and feel.
Muji Pens – this is the pen I currently use since I still have plenty of refills left. The ink is very smooth and very black, which makes it a dream to write with. Plus, the design is pretty stylish.
The same Etsy shop actually has a click version of these Muji pens, which I had as well, because I got some when I was living in China. But I think they got lost in all the international moving I’ve been doing.
Sakura Koi Brush Pens – these are some of my favorites, they have a smaller brush tip that is pretty easy to control, and quite unique colors.
I got mine when I lived in China, but all the variety of colors right now I can only find from that shop on Etsy. I definitely recommend giving them a try.
Stencils
Stencils are where Etsy truly stands out, offering a wide variety of styles to choose from.
I love stencils because they are like a shortcut to creating pages – it’s faster, more precise, and you don’t have to do any math in your head to divide your page equally.
When it comes to stencils, I have quoted a lot, but here are a few of my favorites.

Bullet Journal Stencils Set – I adore this set; it was the first one I ever got, and it’s still my favorite. It’s high-quality and comes with plenty of elements to help you create any Bullet Journal spread and decorate it as well.
I recommend checking the entire shop; I probably have half of the stencils there. There are some tah tare functional for speeding up the process and some that are strictly decorative. You’ll definitely find something to your taste.
Grid Guide Stencil – This is a true magical item; it will help you with any layout, easily doing all the math for you.
Now, this is not exactly the same stencil I have (the shop where I got mine is closed), but this is from another stencil shop I absolutely adore, and it works the same way.
Actually, I got several stencils from them for weekly and monthly setup all the way back in 2018, and even though they have been very loved and a bit worn, they still serve me well!
Stickers
You might not see a lot of stickers on my day-to-day planning pages, but look at my vision board, memory-keeping pages, and monthly reviews, and you’ll see they are brimming with stickers.
I love how easy it is to add character and color to your pages with a sticker. There is a right sticker for everything, whether you’re thinking of adding something to signify your mood or using a sticker to help you create beautiful headers.
Here are some of the stickers I can’t get enough of lately.

Water Tracker Stickers – a simple sticker that will easily remind you every day to get hydrated! And this is just one of the stickers I have from this creator.
They have amazing designs, whether you’re looking for a header for your weekly spreads or gorgeous kraft paper stickers to decorate your cover page – this shop has it all, and all the designs are stunning!
Sunny Day Stickers Sheet – this sticker sheet just screams of happiness and sunny days, and it absolutely stole my heart.
I love the happy and cute style the creator has, so I get quite a few of her other stickers, which are so good I’m pacing myself not to use them all at once. If you know, you know.
Winston Corgi Treadmill Cardio Stickers – I really like using visual elements to track my achievements, so these stickers were perfect for marking the days I worked out.
I actually got plenty of stickers from this shop for all types of activities. Because I’m “I have a sticker for that” kinda girl. And I must say they are great.
Homework, Work, Reading, Printable Planner Stickers – these are just some of the stickers I got from this shop. They are perfect for any occasion, and if you’re willing to print your own stickers, you’ll love these!
Speaking of printable stickers, if this is your cup of tea, I have plenty available in my shop, so be sure you check them out as well!
Miscellaneous
Last but not least, I wanted to mention a few other things that are stationery-related but did not fit in any of these categories.

Pastel Crates – I love these as my storage for washi tapes and other little stationery items like stamp ink and pen refills.
I’ll be honest here – I got mine so long ago I don’t remember exactly where I got them from, but this shop had them, so this is the link I’m including here.
Bullet Journal Stamps – these stamps are adorable, and there are so many ways you can use these items in your pages. Even more so, they are pre-inked, so there is no need to get a separate ink pad to use them.
And there you go, here are just a few of my favorites. I’ll share more below, but even so, these are fantastic, and I’m sure you’ll love using all and any of these recommendations in your Bullet Journal as well.
