Yearly Bullet Journal Spreads For 5 Areas Of Your Life

Sharing is caring!

There are Bullet Journal page ideas for pretty much anything you want to track, but yearly spreads get a special kind of love from me — one page, twelve months, and suddenly your whole year feels a little more manageable.

The catch is that a single generic yearly spread can only hold so much before it turns into chaos.

That’s why in this post, I’m sharing the yearly Bullet Journal spreads I’ve organized by different areas of your life instead — goals, finance, health, habits, and more — so each one gets its own dedicated page instead of getting lost in one spread.

A yearly spread is one page, and it holds an entire year. That’s the part I keep coming back to — no daily fills, no weekly setup, just one page you create once and can glance at anytime.

And because everything sits in one place, you actually get more out of it: patterns show up that twelve separate monthly spreads would hide from you. A slow month sandwiched between three busy ones, spending that spikes every spring — it’s all right there on one page instead of buried across a dozen.

The rule I’d add: don’t let this turn into eight pages you dread filling in. A yearly spread should feel light, not like a second job. If one isn’t working for you a few months in, drop it — even half-finished. An abandoned spread costs you nothing. A journal full of pages you’re guilt-tripping yourself into finishing costs you the whole habit.

To be honest, this is exactly the reason why eve thoguh I hae been jorunaling since 2018, I rarely use yearly pages – I know that my life is jumping around al lthe time and my habits and my goals are changing every quarter, so I find it hard personally to stick to a yearly layout and a lot of them are stressing me out.

But thankfully there are plenty of different approaches, so you’ll see when I share which layouts work for everyone and which ones you might want to consider first.

And before we dive into pages, let me mention that at the end of the post you’ll find 50+ FREE printable Bullet Journal pages that you can add to your journal right away and start using immediately.

Goals Yearly Bullet Journal spreads

Goals is probably the most well-known category of yearly Bullet Journal pages. After all, we all start the year with a new journal and new goals for the year ahead.

Here, I’m going to share a few of the layouts that can help you with reaching your goals, or at least with setting them so you know in which direction to move

Yearly Goals

2022 yearly goals spread in my Bullet Journal - Masha Plans

There are a lot of different ways to set your goals; personally, I like to keep mine more general and set a general direction for where I’m going rather than set very strict goals.

I did divide them into three categories, though, because I like to have a bit of structure.

Another option for a yearly goals layout is having a kind of mind map, also divided by different areas of my life.

As you can see, the approach is the same – it’s more like a way to build a new life with new habits than specific big goals. I think lifestyle and small habits ultimately bring a much more impactful result.

Level 10 Life

Level 10 Life is a great layout for your goals, but also for evaluating your life. The goal is to look at different areas of your life, rate them from 1 to 10, and set goals for each area that would help you raise that rating.

I like this layout because it shows you which areas of your life are lacking and require more work.

Finance & Budget Bullet Journal Ideas

Your Bullet Journal can be a powerful tool to help you manage all kinds of things, including your finances. And honestly, when it comes to managing your finances, using yearly pages is the best way to do it.

Yearly Expense Tracker

The best way to control your finances is to know where your money goes, and a yearly tracker is a great wya to do this.

This is also a good way to see where you can cut corners if you’re planning to save more money and learn your spending habits.

Subscriptions Tracker Page

This is the one layout I have in my journal. Subscriptions are a slippery slope – it’s so easy to find yourself spending money on subscriptions you completely forgot.

This layout first tracks everything I’m subscribed to, and second, lets me see when payments are due and what payment method I use, so I make sure my cards have enough money, and I’m never late.

Health & Fitness Pages

Health and fitness is another area of your life that can definitely benefit from a yearly Bullet Journal spread.

After all, your health and fitness journey success is all about consistency, so if you’re ready to commit, there are many pages that can help, and here are just a few.

Yearly Health Statistics

Sleep and walking are some of the most important statistics for the minimum requirements for your health, and a yearly tracker really can help you see the patterns and the correlation between how well you sleep and how much physical activity you did that year.

This is also a great example that if you want to have a yearly page, it doesn’t have to be one page – a two-page layout works just as well.

Yearly Period Tracker

If you’re also a person with periods, you know how important it is to have a tracker and have a good idea of how your cycle is going.

This is the one layout that has to be yearly – after all, this is the only way for you to see the patterns and properly track how you’re doing in this department.

Bullet Journal Workout Plan

Finally, a big tracker you can use is one that would help you track your yearly workouts. I think this would definitely help you stay on track with your workouts and be motivated to keep on going.

Plus, you can add color coding for different workout types to make sure you work all the muscles equally.

Habits Related Spreads

I think the big changes in your life happen through little habits, so a habit tracker is always a powerful tool.

Seeing 365 days of habits or moods compressed onto one page makes patterns jump out immediately — the habit that quietly dies every March, the mood dip that shows up every autumn — in a way a monthly tracker never manages to.

Habit Tracker Bullet Journal

Here is a yearly tracker with four habits. I’ve been thinking about these for a while, and I chose two habits for my personal development: one for my health and one for my puppy (I miss his cute little face so much!).

This was a very big transitional time for me – I started a year with intention, and then in February I had a crisis, and it all ended up with me moving across the ocean in a few months. As you can see, that is also reflected in how I followed my habits.

Bullet Journal Mood Tracker

Year in pixels is a common name for a yearly mood tracker, and here is an example of how to create one.

With mood trackers, there are several ways you can do it – you can either color code with a color for different moods, or you can use different colors for levels of mood from best to worst. Personally, I prefer the latter.

Home & Family Layouts

Home and family is not really a category you think of right away when it comes to your Bullet Journal, but it can be helpful there as well. Just think of the things that you’re struggling with in this area, and you’ll have your idea ready.

My two spreads are a cleaning schedule and a birthday tracker.

A cleaning schedule and a birthday tracker sound almost too simple to matter, but they’re the two spreads that save me the most mental energy every year, because I’ve stopped trying to remember any of it from scratch.

Bullet Journal Cleaning Schedule

Cleaning is definitely not the most fun thing to do, but I found it easier to manage when I divided it into small, actionable steps.

This layout also helps because some things have to be done less often, and I know otherwise some of these get forgotten (like slipping my mattress).

Bullet Journal Birthday Tracker

A birthday tracker is very useful if you have a big family and circle of friends.

The birthdays can definitely go into your future log, but if you already have a lot of other entries there, a birthday can get lost, and you definitely don’t want to miss out on an important event.
