Stationery Recommendation
Even though you definitely can create any type of Bullet Journal page with just one black pen, it’s always more fun to use other supplies, such as pens, markers, and stationery, that make planning easier and more fun.
Here are a few recommendations for the supplies you’ll need for creating those beautiful journal pages:
- Fineliners. These are the blood of your Bullet Journal pages, and I recommend trying Sakura Pigma Micron. They also come in a set with different nib sizes so you get a wider variety of line thicknesses.
- Markers. If you’re obsessed with color like I am, chances are you’ll want to add color to your journal pages as well. Your choice of markers will depend on the colors you prefer, but my top recommendations are Crayola Super Tips, which can also be used for brush lettering, and Zebra Mildliners.
- Brush pens. Something to add brush lettering or maybe even color to your pages! I recommend Tombow Fudenosuke for a small brush tip and Tombow Dual Brush for a larger brush tip.
- Washi tape. I love washi tape and how it allows you to easily decorate your Bullet Journal pages in no time at all. Thankfully, there are washi tapes with all types of colors and patterns, so you can fund something that fits our aesthetics.
- Stencils. Stencils are another amazing tool that will help with you journaling. There are stencils for anything, from adding lettering and drawings to your pages to more practical stencils that help you set up your trackers and such. I’d recommend starting out with this 30-piece set of affordable stencils.
I can talk about stationery for hours, but let me cut myself off. Let’s talk about Bullet Journal movie trackers.
Bullet Journal Movie Tracker Ideas
There are many different ways you can create your movie tracker and many styles and colors to choose from. To ensure that you get the most inspiration, here I gathered 13 pages from different creators, each with their own designs and their own goals as to why they created a movie tracker.
So, let's look at these pages and choose the elements you enjoy and add to your own movie tracker.
Start with this lovely design of a movie tracker as a roll of film. I think it's a pretty classic and universal idea.
As you color the movies you have watched, you can play around with patterns and colors; you don't have to use only one color like the creator here. Make it your own!
This is a perfect way to keep all those movie recommendations you surely get from your friends. I love the creativity of using a popcorn bucket as a tracker and how each element actually has a slight shadow, adding a bit more dimension to it.
This is a fantastic example of a movie tracker with a lot of extra information, like the rating and release data. It really helps you get a wonderful overview of your cinematic journey and how much you actually enjoyed it.
To keep it a bit more, more fun, the creators added adorable movie stickers to the bottom of the page, and I think it's a fantastic idea to add more fun and creativity to the spread.
This movie tracker doesn't fit that many movies, but I love the cuteness of all the elements. I also like that the creator added a section for the ratings and a few lines to write your thoughts.
Here is a fun example of how you can create a big list for a franchise or a set of movies you want to binge. It might not look that decorated, but just the bold red Marvel logo is enough to set the mood.
I love the idea of having a movie night, and tracking it is even more fun! As you can see, for each movie, there is also a date on when it was watched.
Here is my own personal take on a movie tracker, I like it to be doodly. Therefore, I added doodles instead of stickers or washi tapes.
This tracker also made me realize I should watch more movies since it took me forever to fill it out. I watch too many TV shows haha
You know those book trackers where the creator adds a cover to the book? Well, you can do the same with the movies! I love that here, the creator actually added a few lines to each movie. And can we just have a minute and appreciate the incredible handwriting?
Using film and a projector as ways to decorate your movie tracker is a classic move! I obviously love that the creator used my favorite pens for this layout, even though I do not understand what the header is saying or even what language it is.
I love that the creator names it "movie magic" since that is the feeling you should be getting when watching those Disney and Pixar movies. Considering how many of those there are, it's clear that having a huge tracker like this is a must!
I love this tracker, and I would love to see it filled, where I imagine there will be a small movie poster in front of each movie title.
Are you also super in love with the movie Goat? I don't know how the goat is connected to movies, but I love that the creator added this illustration, it's absolutely hilarious!
Stamps are a great and super-fast way to create stunning pages like this one! I think the creator might've used stamps for that lettering as well.
I'm not sure what exact stamps these are, but I found similar stamps here, in case you want to give it a try.
Last but not least is this fantastic movie tracker that almost looks like a page from a scrapbook. The creator used so many different papers and textures! It looks very creative and colorful.
