Stationery Recommendations
Before we dive into the theme ideas, let’s talk about supplies. I know that the world of stationery is wide, and it’s easy to get overwhelmed and end up buying something you don’t like.
That’s why here I’ll share some of my recommendations for things that I know you’ll love:
- Fineliners. These are the basis for every Bullet Journal page and your faithful companions in the world of journaling. My top recommendation is the Sakura Pigma Micron, which also comes in different nib sizes, allowing for a variety of line thicknesses.
- Brush pens. Brush pens are perfect for adding brush lettering to your Bullet Journal pages, drawing, or even adding color. I would recommend the Tombow Fude brush pen for a smaller brush tip and the Tombow Dual Brush for a larger brush tip and significantly more colors.
- Stencils. Stencils are a great way to add decorative or functional elements to your Bullet Journal pages quickly. And unlike stickers, stencils are reusable. For Spring-themed pages, I think you would love these beautiful floral stencils.
- Markers. These are a must-have if you’re a fan of colorful pages. The choice of these depends on the colors you like. My favorites are Zebra Mildliner and Tombow Twin Tone.
Now that we have all your supplies ready, let’s get inspired by these pages!
13 Bullet Journal Summer Theme Inspirations
Since the amount of themes you can try in your Bullet Journal is limited only by your imagination, it's easy to get overwhelmed and create a post you can read for days.
So let's start small, here are 13 ideas for this summer. And if you're looking for more, just check the end of the post for a few more inks.
June is when I have my birthday, so I always try to do a special theme that month. Makeup is super fun to doodle, and I generally love makeup, so it really was a perfect collaboration for me!
There are many different ways to approach a floral theme, and in this case, it's the jar, which I think looks stunning. I also absolutely adore the idea of a cover page cut out; it's a very creative way to make it stand out.
WHo can have Summer without ice cream? So I'd say it's a perfect theme to try this season. Plus, you can play so much with the colors of your ice cream and different added toppings.
If an aesthetic look is more your jam, this inspiration is for you. I love the minimal look of this page and how the beautiful writing and a cute quote make great decorations.
The creator called this theme "light academia," and I'm so here for it! It's really a great example of creating something more crafty, with stamps, decals, and kraft paper.
Considering most people take vacations and travel in Summer, travel seems like a perfect theme to try. I love that Natasha in this take made it look so different with the suitcase being actually packed with flowers.
I truly believe that bright colors by themselves can be a fantastic game! Take this one, with the bright watercolors on the background looking so great and creating a happy sunny mood.
Here is one more idea on how to create a floral theme in your BBullet Journal. I think the fact that the drawings are in fineline monochrome style and there is that piece of kraft paper for the header really makes this age look extra aesthetic.
Apparently, the 8th of August is actually a Cat Day, which is such a perfect invention and a reason to bring your love for cats to your Bullet journal. This cover page is a gorgeous example of a cat-themed Bullet Journal age.
This theme for e seems more fitting for Fall, with its cozy vibes and craft paper. But that's the beauty of Bullet Journaling - just because I might think it fits Fall better doesn't mean you can't create this theme in Summer. Your journal = your rules!
I love Polaroids. They're such a beautiful way to preserve memories, and I feel like often, if it's not a Polaroid, the photo will be forever lost in its digital form. Polaroids are also a great theme to use in your Bullet Journal; they're easy to draw and super fun!
Yup, just Summer can be a theme of its own! Think of all the things you associate with Summer and get doodling!
I haven't been anywhere tropical in forever, but still, every time the Summer comes, I'm dreaming of teal seas, green palm trees, and fresh coconuts. It'd be a fun idea to use as your theme as well. As you can see, I went for tropical style greenery, and it came out looking pretty fun while actually being super easy to create.
