Stationery Recommendations
To be clear, to create a weekly spread all you really need is one pen and a notebook to create it in. That’s it, there is no pressure of getting more than what you can afford.
But, I find that adding something extra and using supplies that you love and that bring you joy helps with planning and creating those unique pages that you keep wanting to open and use every day.
So here are a few recommendations for stationery that can help your weekly setups and will make the process more fun and joyful.
- Fineliners. These are the basics for every Bullet Journal page, perfect for drawing and doodling. I recommend Sakura Pigma Micron, which also comes in a set with different nib sizes, allowing you a variety of line thicknesses.
- Markers. If you want to add color to your pages, you’ll need some markers. Your choice will depend on what colors you like. My top choices are Zebra Mildliners and Tombow Twin Tone.
- Brush pens. To add beautiful brush lettering to your weekly spreads, you need a good set of brush pens. I recommend Tombow Fudensuke since they are smaller tips and pretty easy to master. If you’re looking for a larger brush pen and something with tons of colors, you can’t go wrong with Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
- Stencils. These little helpers are great to allow you to set up your weekly spreads faster. I recommend these weekly spread stencils that are built specifically for your weekly pages.
Now that you have all your supplies and are ready to start creating, let’s dive in and look at some March Bullet Journal weekly spread ideas.
March Bullet Journal Weekly Spread Ideas
Every creator has their own style and aesthetics, so I gathered weekly spreads from different people here. That way, you can see different approaches and pick the elements that resonate with you the most.
And trust me, these are all March weekly, even if there is no date there - I personally checked each and every one of them! Even though, you can use any ideas you want for March, so I would say any weekly spread can be an inspiration.
Nonetheless, all these are from March, so let's dive in and check them out.
Starting with my own weekly spread from March 2020. My theme was self-care, so each week was after different types of things I do for self-care. This particular one is all about makeup.
The format I used is probably the easiest one out there because you just need to divide the page into four even parts. I love this format because it's very straightforward, and it has plenty of space for planning or for adding doodles like I did.
In total contrast to my colorful and doodly style, this week is pretty minimalist and has neutral colors. I love the interesting details the creator used to make this page stand out, like adding different types of paper for daily boxes.
Altogether, this layout looks stunning and very well organized.
Here is a beautiful horizontal weekly spread. I love the way the creator chose to decorate their weekly spread with this beautiful color combination and beautiful handwriting for the daily headers.
I think this layout is very interesting because, for most of the planning, the creator uses a running to-do list. At the same time, they create such a fantastic structure.
First, it's the idea of dividing work tasks from home tasks. Secondly, they still created daily boxes around it, so if there are some important dates or tasks that have to be completed on a certain day, it's easy to plan it out.
Florals are a great way to decorate your journal pages, but I think it's especially true for Spring months when nature is waking up from the winter slumber. I also absolutely adore the color scheme the creator chose for this layout they match so well!
This weekly spread is very interesting and different. First of all, I love the academic theme and the brown colors the creator used to add that feeling to their layout. Secondly, I think it looks very interesting that the daily boxes are a bit inclined following the decorations the creator added to the corners.
This weekly spread actually has a pretty simple structure. Just like in my weekly spread, the creator just divided each page into four equal parts. But because they added such a beautiful floral composition in the middle, this layout really came to life.
Just because you decided to use flowers as your theme, it doesn't mean you have to use a lot of colors. Creating a black-and-white layout like this one will look just as good.
I also like how the creator organized this weekly spread and managed to fit so many different sections.
Green is the perfect color for March, not only because of nature but also because of Saint Patrick's Day. Here is a fantastic inspiration on how you can add color to your layout with the use of colorful paper, stickers, and washi tapes.
I love the idea of color theming within your weekly spread and using different colors for different sections. It's fun to add variety and interest to a pretty standard weekly layout. Together with the cute handwriting used for the daily headers, this week is super cute and fun!
This creator chose to combine traditional weekly spread with daily boxes with the larger rolling weekly to-do list. I think it's a great combination that helps you have the best of both worlds.
I love the idea of creating a weekly spread around just a color scheme. This looks beautiful with the peach and sandy colors. It's also a very creative weekly layout, where it's all well organized but also looks artistic.
I love this bright and creative weekly spread, showing you once again that you can use anything you love as a theme in your Bullet Journal!
The structure of this week is also amazing; you can see you have plenty of planning space for each day but also a lot of space to fill with anything else you need in your weekly log.
I love that this creator went with a minimalist theme but still added a bit of decoration and color to it. It reminds you that your journal has its rules, and even if you do something minimalistic, it doesn't mean you can't use anything else to add a character to your layout.
Last but not least is this beautiful weekly layout. It's pretty simple in terms of decorations, but discreetly the creator added little doodles to still keep it on the theme.
