15 Non-Halloween October Bullet Journal Themes

With Halloween just around the corner, it’s easy to get swept up in decorations and costumes… but if you’re looking for fresh ideas for your Bullet Journal this month that are unrelated to this holiday, don’t worry – I’ve got you covered.
I’ve put together some inspiring non-Halloween themes to help fill your Bullet Journal with creativity throughout October. So get ready to transform your month with these October Bullet Journal themes!
I’ve been Bullet Journaling since 2018, so of course. I created plenty of different themes, and I’ll share some of my own ideas here.

Non-Halloween October Bullet Journal Themes
Just because this is a spooky month, it doesn’t mean you have to be spooky in your journal as well! So, let’s explore some other ideas.

Game Theme
Let’s start with a theme I did one year, based on the Among Us game. Back in October 2020, everyone was playing that.
It might be my most elaborate theme, but it was easy to draw and really fun to create; each page reminded me of the fun time I spent playing with my friends.
To make this theme a bit more interesting, I used the white-on-black technique, and for that, the best pen to use is a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen.
Books Theme
Books are a perfect theme for any month, but reading books on chill October nights with a cozy blanket and a hot cup of coffee has something special to it.
Plus, books are easy to doodle and customize with different patterns and colors, adding lots of variety to your doodles.
Merry-go-round October Theme
This might not be what you’d expect from your usual Fall theme, but I think it’s a creative way to step out of the box! Such a bright, cheerful theme to celebrate a bright, colorful month.
Fall Theme
October for me is mostly about a Halloween theme, so I realized I don’t have much inspiration for non-Halloween themes in my journal (or at least in the journals I have left).
I used a design I created for the printables in my shop and turned it into this image. So even though this is not a theme I created in my Bullet Journal, it is a theme I created.
Music Theme
This is such a fun theme, and there are so many ways you can approach it! I, for one, love this retro style with beautiful colors and a hint of botanical doodles.
The creator here, I think,m used my favorite concept – if you make things smaller, they become cuter. So the small header letters look adorable!
Another trick to add cuteness is to make sure your doodles don’t have sharp edges, and this creator did the same, making the cassette tape look chunky.
Retro Scrapbook Theme
It might not be the name of the theme Natasha used, but that’s how I would define it. It has those retro vibes, with music sheets and an old photo. With different types of paper and other elements layered on top, it makes me think of scrapbooking.
I believe these two things match very well, and this theme is absolutely unique!
October Flower Theme
Flowers aren’t just a Spring theme; you can use them in your Bullet Journal all year long! There are so many different ways to incorporate this theme into your pages.
I love that this one has so much kraft paper and almost feels like a mosaic.
Hot Drinks Theme
With Fall in full swing in October, of course, a hot drink is a welcome treat. So why not bring your love for hot beverages to your Bullet Journal pages?
I like how Shelby just drew simple cups, and it represented the theme so perfectly.
Harry Potter Theme
If you’re a Harry Potter fan, October could definitely be a month to bring your love for this franchise to your Bullet Journal pages.
I don’t know why, but for me, Fall and Christmas are the seasons most associated with the wizarding world.
Butterfly Bullet Journal Theme
Butterflies are a beautiful theme, and I like it because you can play around with colors and designs on the butterfly wings, but you can also keep the same design if you prefer.
I also think the lines and neat header lettering help make this theme look extra special.
I’m pretty sure this creator drew the letters themselves, but you can also use a shortcut with stencils. These stencils are incredible, and this shop has several different fonts to choose from.
Studio Ghibli Theme
Do you like Studio Ghibli movies? I’m absolutely in love with them and the beautiful artwork in them (just look at my right tattoo sleeve, which is basically Studio Ghibli tattoos only!).
So, of course, I had to include this idea here, especially since it looks stunning and I love that the creator still added a little bit of the season to it. It’s a fun way to make any theme fit the season – add little seasonal doodles.
Pumpkin Spice Latte Theme
It might not be a latte in that cup, but when you see a coffee cup with a pumpkin on it, isn’t it what you’re thinking about right away?
I love how simple and stylish this cover page looks!
This creator also used pencils, and as you can see, they’re a great medium for creating soft colors and a gradient effect.
Sky Whale Theme
I’m horrible at naming themes, but I feel like this mix of whales and clouds is perfectly described as “sky whale.” If you have a better way to name this beautiful theme, leave it in the comments!
Baking October Theme
Baking is the perfect theme for the season, since Fall is when I think most of the freshly baked pies. This is probably a very American tradition, but I have consumed copious amounts of American entertainment by this point, and I can never forget the pecan pie I had when visiting.
Either way, I think the colors the creator chose here also fit the coziness of the season. And note that they barely used a black fineliner for the doodles, making them look very differemt, because they mostly achiueved the shapes by just using colors.
Tea Bullet Journal Theme
I know Fall is generally all about coffee, but a good hot cup of tea is just as nice in that chilly season. This monthly log is a perfect way to present the tea theme in your Bullet Journal.
If you want to create a similar aesthetic, I think the key is picking the right color combination – something in earthy tones.
Stationery Recommendations
Anything you already have in your supplies collection can be used to create a stunning Bullet Journal theme! But if you’re looking for some recommendations on what else you might want to get, I’ve got you covered.
Here are some of my favorite supplies:
- Sakura Pigma Micron – a good set of fineliners will bring your Bullet Journal to the next level, and these are amazing! The quality is high, and the ink is smooth and archival. Plus, they come in different nib sizes, giving you more variety in your lines.
- Tombow Fude Brush Pen – I always say these are the best pens to start with brush lettering and the ones you’ll probably end up using the most. They’re the right size for smaller headers, like those for daily and weekly spreads. Plus, they are great for drawing as well.
- Crayola Super Tips – if you want to add color to your Bullet Journal, these are some of the best pens you can use. They come in an insane amount of colors and are very affordable. Plus, you can also use them for brush lettering!
- Bullet Journal Stencils – I don’t talk about these much, but they are absolutely amazing for speeding up your page setups. This set has all the elements you need to create stunning pages in no time! Plus, they look great and will serve you forever since they are made of metal.
