Self Care Dot Journal Ideas
Finding the right Bullet Journal ideas to boost your mood takes a bit of trial and error. But we all need a safe space to unwind, get a bit creative with our favorite pens, and focus on our mental health.
That is exactly why I’m sharing theseย self-care dot journal ideasย with youย today. In this post, I share the specific spreads I created to track my habits, manage my stress, and bring a little more peace into my daily routine.
You will see how simple doodles and a few markers can transform a basic notebook into a personal retreat. Let us check out some fresh layouts to help you prioritize yourself and unlock your creativity this week.

One of my favorite things about dot journaling is that it is a blank canvas, meaning you can create anything you want or need and make it a custom companion rather than just another pre-made planner that asks you to fit into its constraints.
After years of journaling and so many experiments, I realized how much my dot grid journal helps me not just with planning, but also with staying less overwhelmed, less anxious, and more cared for. Because if you don’t take care of yourself, who else will?
Your journla can be that perfect companion, and here I wanted to share the tried and true pages I’ve created during the years that I clearly see the effect from.
And be sure you scroll until the end of the post to get many of these pages as FREE printables you can easily try in your journal today.

Stationery Recommendations
Before we dive into the pages, just a few lines about the supplies that I love using to create these pages. In case you want to achieve a similar aesthetic:
- Pilot Dr. Grip Mechanical Pencil. Every page I create starts with a pencil sketch, and this one has simply the most comfortable grip, so you can plan for hours.
- Sakura Pigma Micron Fineliners. Fineliners are the blood of all your journal pages, and these are high-quality, smooth, and come in different nib sizes, so you have a good variety of line thicknesses to choose from.
- Zebra Mildliners. I love color on my pages, and these particular markers are the ones you’ll see on probably 80% of my layouts. Another set of markers I’ve been loving recently is Crayola Super Tips.
These really are the basics, but of course, there are so many other supplies to choose from. But this is about the pages, not stationery, so let’s dive into the ideas.
Dot Grid Journal Ideas For Self-Care
First, let me put this out there: for me, just creating pages is an act of self-care. So yes, I tried a lot of layouts and a bunch of ideas, simply because I wanted to enjoy creating them.
So if they are too detailed and too decorated, this is mostly because I enjoy doing it that way. You can very easily skip all of that and just make lists – the idea is to have something that helps, no matter how it looks.
So don’t get too carried away by its look and aesthetics. Check the idea and then follow it in your own style and design that works for you and your needs.
Here are the pages!
Self Love Menu
This layout is so good that it is actually a second iteration of this idea. The point is to have a layout with different ways you can do to show care for yourself.
For convenience, I divided it into categories so I wouldn’t have to think too hard and could easily pick something that fits my current needs.
This layout has consistently helped me make better choices and take care of myself in low moments instead of defaulting to junk food and Netflix, which don’t restore me at all.

Morning Routine Page
One of the ways I find myself being able to have a better day is by starting it on the right note. Meaning I start it already knowing what the first things I have to do every morning to be my best and most energetic are.
This is why I have a morning routine page. This layout obviously changes every time I change my routine, so I have something that fits my current lifestyle.
But truly having a routine in the morning and knowing what exactly will happen the moment I wake up was a game-changer for my mental health, physical health, and productivity.

A little tip here – be sure you don’t make it too complicated. I made routines and layouts before that had ALL the things I heard you must do every morning, and it was way too much, and eventually, I haven’t followed this routine at all.
How To Find Time For Self-Care
This layout was created pretty randomly, but I must say it has been very effective. Every time I catch myself thinking I don’t have time for self-care, I open this layout, check what kind of things I can do, and generally remind myself that I do have the time, I just choose not to spend it on myself.

Skincare Routine
Skincare has always been a big part of my self-care, and having good skin makes me feel better about everything else.
So to make sure my skin stays in the best condition, I created a weekly skincare routine – basically a schedule on what steps and in which order I do every day.
To be fair, this layout is from a while ago; it had many iterations while I was figuring out my skincare, and now it is all so simple that I don’t really need this page at all. But at the time, this layout was super helpful to better understand my skin needs.

Meditation Tracker
In the end, this is not a habit I follow right now; I have found other techniques that work for me better.
But when I just started meditating, it was the best thing at that time, and it really helped me to find a moment just for myself to finally allow my brain to stop for a second.
This tracker was very important in helping me stay committed to this new habit, even when it felt hard to stay quiet for 5 minutes a day.

Comfort List
This is another layout that UI had so much fun creating; it was basically a self-care time in itself.
It was also a great way to reflect a little bit and think of myself and my needs. What are the things that bring me comfort and that I enjoy? This layout challenged me to think beyond my usual McDonald’s and The Office, and in the future, it turned out to be very useful.
This layout helped me to see a wider version of my interests and things that bring me joy and comfort, so I now have a big list to choose from.

Happiness Jar
This layout I recreated several times – that is how nice and helpful I found it to be. It is basically a doodle representation of all the things that bring me joy. Kind of almost like a gratitude log.
It’s not a list I refer to when I need self-care, but it is a layout I look at every time I feel down, because it reminds me how much joy there is in small daily things.

Mood Tracker
This is a layout I started seriously using in 2020 when I (and probably the rest of the world) needed a lot of help with my mental health, and more or less consistently, I’ve been using it ever since.
This layout is a great reminder to take time every day to just listen to yourself and reflect on your feelings. And it helps you see how your mood is changing throughout the month, so you can use it as data to make things better for yourself.

Self Care On The Go
Usually, when I think of self-care, I think of spa days or hour-long bathtub soaking. And I have no time (or a bathtub) to do any of these things. And often I find myself using it as an excuse to delay taking care of myself.
This layout was my effort to brainstorm and push myself to think of small things that I can do for myself that do not require a financial or time investment. It was a great boost to think outside the box, and I still look at this layout in times when I need something fast and easy.

Gratitude Log
This is probably the easiest and most powerful layout I’ve ever created for taking care of myself.
The idea is simple: all you need to do is write down something good you’re grateful for every day. But accumulated over time, it has an incredible impact.
I found that I am now almost looking forward to that time in my day when I get to sit down and reflect, and I found this cute, warm moment of the day. It’s a great pick-me-up activity that eventually reprograms the brain to notice more good things.

Things To Do For My Health
Last but not least, I wanted to mention this layout. Because physical health is self-care, and you always feel better mentally if you feel better physically. Even if I reluctantly drag myself to the gym, I know deep inside my body will feel great and will be thankful.
But staying healthy doesn’t mean working out 7 days a week (thankfully, otherwise it would definitely be a no for me), and so I wanted to create a layout that would give me more ideas for small things I can do.
Like with everything, I find that the real change comes from doing small things consistently, and this layout helped me identify the small things I could be doing.

These are all the ideas I have now, but if you keep scrolling, you’ll find even more layout ideas for self-care.
