It all can definitely be overwhelming, and then the trip itself goes by so fast you barely remember what actually happened.
And that ‘s where a travel journal becomes useful, because it’s this magical travel assistant that can help you with all the aspects, making your planning easier and helping you preserve all the precious memories you ‘ve made during the trip.
There are so many different pages you can create, and it really is limited only by your imagination. That sounds a bit overwhelming, though, so in this blog post, I gathered several ideas to give you a glimpse of what is possible and push your creativity to come up with your own pages.

Stationery Recommendations
Let’s start with some stationery recommendations, and you’ll find these useful for creating your travel pages as well as any other layouts in your Bullet Journal.
- A journal. You’ll need a journal for all your travel pages. You can use a usual journal, like my favorite Archer And Olive notebooks (use code MASHA10 for 10% OFF), or you can do something more like a refillable travel notebook.
- Sakura Pigma Fineliners – these are a staple for creating any Bullet Journal spread. Their black archival ink and many different nib sizes will allow you to create stunning and elaborate pages.
- Tombow Fude Brush Pen – These small-tip brush pens are universal. You can create elaborate brush lettering and beautiful headers, or just use them for drawing.
- Markers. You probably want to add some colors to your pages, and I recommend choosing a few of your favorite markers. For me, it’s absolutely Zebra Mildliners.

There are many ideas, and each creator has a different style and approach to how they create these layouts. So here I have pages from 15 different artists, so you don't just get a variety of pages, but also different aesthetics.

Let's start from a small and dreamy page - a bucket list for the places you want to visit. I think it's a great way to dream and to see what trip you should be planning next.
Travel is not an inexpensive activity, so it's always beneficial to pay close attention to the financial aspect of it. This layout helps you get a good idea of how much the trip will cost and what you will actually spend money on.
Speaking of money, something else you might consider having is a tracker to help you save up for your dream trip. It will be a visual representation of your savings journey and will keep you extra motivated.
As you plan your vacation, you might want to have a layout that gives you some ideas on what the big things are you'll be doing each day of your trip.
If your destination is a city, it might be a good idea to look into local transportation in advance. This layout helps you get the idea of how it all looks, and I love that the creator also added notes for some things to consider when planning the time it takes to get from point A to point B.
This is a comprehensive dashboard that brings all the important details of your trip in one place. And I like that the creator even made a section for the outfits, which can definitely help with packing.
I love this fun and doodly layout that helps bring some fun to the sad fact that traveling costs money, but either way, it's a good page to have to get a visual idea on how much money you need and what it will be spent on.
Memory pages are my favorite ones to create, I think they are a fantastic way to ensure that you remember all the wonderful little moments, especially if we're talking about travel. This creator made a fantastic page that combines so many cute elements.
A packing list is a must for all your travels; you never want to find yourself without something important. For my packing list, I also want to add details like the weather that is expected, so I can plan my wardrobe accordingly.
A fun idea to create is to make a list of all the places you want to visit, and it doesn't have to be big foreign countries. As you can see, here the creator made a list of national parks that are perfect for a smaller local trip.
This is an important list that we often overlook. But usually there are plenty of things you need to prep and organise before you go on your phone-free complete rest trip, and a list like that will allow you to finish with all your obligations.
If you are on the creative side, you might enjoy keeping a little drawing diary of your journey. I think it looks super fun, and it's a great way to ensure all the places and memories are etched on paper forever.
Here is another take on a list of places and countries you want to visit. I love the little quote the creator put in the middle.
As you are travelling, you probably find yourself with plenty of ticket stubs, maps, and postcards. A fun way to utilise them would be to create a little collage like this one. Plus, it's a great way to keep the memory of your adventure.
Last but not least is this creative idea of a list for all the travel health-related essentials. I think this is especially important if you're doing nature trips or if you're travelling with kids - you want to always have the necessary meds with you.
