Stationery Recommendations
Before you sit down in your home office or at the dining table to plan for January, you’ll need to get your supplies. And in this world, there are too many to choose from.
So, to keep it simple, here are some of my favorite supplies that I think you’ll love using in your Bullet Journal as well.
- A journal. Of course, you can’t plan without a journal, and there are many to choose from. My top choice are Archer and Olive journals (you can get 10% off with my code MASHA10), but there are plenty of more affordable options as well, such as Lemome Dotted Bullet Notebook.
- Fineliners. These pens are the blood of your every page! Apart from smooth ink flow and rich black lines, they can create, they also come in sets with different nib sizes, so you can add more variety. My top choice is Sakura Pigma Micron pens.
- Markers. If you like adding color to your journal, you’ll need some markers! I always recommend Crayola Super Tips, since they come in many colors and are pretty affordable. You can also use them for brush lettering!
- Tombow Fude brush pen. This pen is your universal friend that will help you create beautiful headers, brush lettering, doodling, and drawing. The small, easy-to-control brush tip makes it a perfect pen for all beginners as well.
- Washi tapes. In case you’re looking for an easy way to decorate your Bullet Journal, washi tape is the way to go! There are all imaginary themes and colors of washi tape out there, so you’ll be able to find something that fits your aesthetics.
Now that all supplies are together, let’s take a look at these cover pages and find inspiration for your January monthly setup.

I would never think of creating such a theme, but here it is, and it looks super fun and exciting! I love the beautiful cover page and how creative the artists were to make something so simple so very interesting.
Since January is the beginning of the year, I love the idea of making a January theme special. That year my theme was my favorite things, so this is what I doodled the whole month long.
This beautiful cover page has a very cozy, winter-themed vibe. I love how comfortable and warm it feels, and the creator used stickers and washi tapes for creating it.
There are so many baked goods you can doodle for this theme, and I love that you get to explore all the shades of brown and yellow in these doodles.
If you're looking for something simple and easy to create, you can't go wrong with a pattern! This one is very easy; all I need is some washi tape to create patterns and markers to add the colors.
I don't know what this theme is, the creator uses elements from botanical theme, space, galaxy, and florals. Either way, this looks beautiful! And I love how seamlessly the washi tapes fit the cover page design.
Baking is a cozy theme, and I love all the little doodles you can create when it comes to this fun activity. Even though I don't bake, I can appreciate it being a lovely theme to try, and it is a lot of fun to create - I did this theme myself one year for November.
Here is a beautiful design idea if you want something aesthetic, here is a perfect inspiration for you. The stunning letters and a piece of kraft paper really make it look special.
Considering most of us are meeting the new year with some champagne, it is a fun and festive theme to explore in your Bullet Journal this January.

This cover page is beautiful, and it attaches together the idea of florals and hot air balloons. I really think that using flora in different formats, like here, really makes a big difference and variety.
Sushi is a beautiful theme that I also enjoy creating myself. I think it's also fun that the creator went with the same idea I had and added little expressions to each of the doodles.
Reading this is a wide one, and there is a lot for you to explore. I love how this creator went with a bit of a minimalistic approach by adding a little piece of a book page.
Whether you want to draw flowers or just leaves, and attention here is a beautiful inspiration of how you can turn these doodles into a beautiful cover page. And I'm absolutely in love with the beautiful color combination the artists chose here.
Coffee is always a great theme to explore, and it is especially true, I think, in those chilly winter months. So why not turn your love for this hot drink into a theme in your journal?
