Easy & Cute Bullet Journal Ideas For Beginners
Bullet Journaling for beginners is all about finding simple ways to stay organized while adding a touch of creativity to your daily life. To be fair, there is so much you can do with your journal that finding the right ideas can be overwhelming.
But that’s why you’re here – to find something that works for you and help you create a stunning journal fitting your goals.
This guide is packed with easy & cute Bullet Journal ideas that are perfect for anyone, including complete beginners. These pages will help you stay on top of your tasks while expressing your personal style. Let’s make planning a little more joyful!

There is a pretty much limitless amount of ideas you can try out in your Bullet Journal; it’s really only limited by your imagination!
In this list, I gathered plenty of ideas to help you get started. It will show you a bit of what’s possible. You might find here the page that would be a game changer for you, or maybe it will inspire you to create your own unique page.
Whatever is the case, always keep in mind your own needs and choose the pages that you think will be helpful to you, rather than just pages you see everyone use.
And most importantly, don’t overwhelm your Bullet Journal with pages; don’t try ALL the ideas at the same time. This will simply turn journaling time into a chore, and it will be of no help at all.
So instead, try one of two pages, see if they work, and once you figure that out, move to the next idea, if you feel like you need it.
And one more thing – at the end of this post, you’ll find some FREE Bullet Journal printables that you can start using right away. Be sure you get those since they will be super helpful in building a Bullet Journal system that works for you in half the time.
This post may contain affiliate links. They will be of no extra expense for you, but I receive a small credit. Please see my Disclosure for more details. Thank you for supporting Masha Plans!
Stationery Recommendations
Let’s start with a few stationery recommendations, since supplies are what help you set up your pages faster and in a much more fun way.
So I won’t get into detail here, but here are a few of my recommendations:
- A notebook. You’ll need a good one, and it all depends on so many different factors. My personal recommendation is Archer & Olive notebooks, and you can get it 10% off with my code MASHA10.
- Fineliners. They are the blood of your journal and will help you to create any page in your journal and more. My favorites are Sakura Pigma Micron.
- Markers. If you want to add color to your journal, you’ll need some good markers. I recommend Crayola Super Tips, since they come in so many colors and are pretty affordable.
- Brush pens. If you want to add some beautiful brush lettering to your journal pages, you’ll need a brush pen. I recommend starting with Tombow Fude.
This should be enough to get you started on creating and decorating your future Bullet Journal pages. Now, let’s finally look at some easy page ideas for beginners.
Easy & Cute Bullet Journal Ideas For Beginners
There are so many pages, so for convenience, let’s divide them here into categories.
These are some of the most widely used pages, meaning that a larger number of people find them useful, including myself. But always remember that your journal is unique and you get to choose what you include.
There is no right or wrong way to journal, only your way, so you make your own rules!
Foundation Bullet Journal Pages
Let’s start with some of the basic pages that are the bones of your journal.
- Key: a place to decipher your Bullet Journal entries. Especially as a beginner, you’ll need to look at this page a lot while you’re still getting used to the symbols.

- Index: basically a table of contents for your journal. It helps you to easily find any information in your Bullet Journal.
- Future Log: a place for you to have a bird’s eye view of the upcoming year and add all the events that will be happening during the year.

- Monthly Log: a place for you to plan your month. It often comes together with a monthly to-do list.

- Expenses Tracker: keeping your finances in check is important, and this layout will help you see where your money goes so you can make better financial decisions for yourself.
- Time Tracker: the most impactful page for your productivity. It helps you see how you spend your time and allows you to make changes and improve your productivity.

Cute Bullet Journal Collections
Here by the word collection I mean just random Bullet Journal pages. Because your journal doesn’t have to be just bout productivity and self-improvement, there are plenty of other adorable ways to use it.
- Wish List: a cute little page filled with things you want. That way, next time you are making a Christmas list of things to get a treat, you’ll have an idea right away of things that can make you happy.

- Books To Read: if you’re a reader, you’ll love having a separate page in your Bullet Journal just about books. It can be books you want to read or maybe books you’ve already read.

- Recipe Page: a perfect idea to write down the random good recipes you find. That way, you’ll always know where to find them, and they will not be lost to time. Plus, you can add some notes on how you improved or changed it.
- Monthly Memory Page: a lot of things are happening to us every month, but often these little moments get lost to time. Create a monthly memory page to ensure you remember all the sweet moments you experienced.

- Quote Page: a good quote can set the mood, inspire and uplift you, so why not create a quote page in your journal? Plus, it can be a great way to practice your creative skills, since you don’t need to think about functionality with this layout.
Self Care & Wellness Bullet Journal Spreads
One of my favorite ways to use my Bullet Journal is for self-care, and here are a few easy page ideas for you to try, even if you’re a beginner.
- Self Care Ideas: a wonderful reference page for the next time you need a cheer-up. This is a list of things you already know that will make you feel better.

- Gratitude Log: is a powerful little page that will help you build a more positive attitude toward life one step at a time. Write every day something that you’re grateful for and see how this improves your mindset.

- Routine Page: having routines will help you improve your productivity, but also will give you more energy and time in your day. You can create all types of routines, and having it as a page in your Bullet Journal will help you stay on track.

- Skin Care Page: taking care of your skin is important, and with all the products out there, it’s useful to have a page that tells you easily and exactly how and what you should apply to look your best.

- Afformations Page: affirmations can be a powerful tool to help you build a strong and positive thinking mind, so it might be useful to have a list of the affirmations you’re working on at the moment.
Easy Bullet Journal Ideas For Goals & Productivity
Last but not least, here are a few pages that will help you with your goals and productivity, which is one of the top reasons people start a Bullet Journal.
- Level 10 Life: powerful layout that will help you evaluate different areas of your life and set goals to ensure that your goals align with your values and the way you see your life going.

- Brain Dump Page: this layout is a great way to fight overwhelm. Simply write down everything on your mind, from to-do list to any worries floating there. And once it’s all on paper, it will be easy to start organizing and handling it all.

- Monthly Review Page: create this page at the end of each month to assess your progress and ensure you’re still on track with your goals and intentions.
- 15 Minute Tasks: you’ll be surprised how much can actually be done in just 15 minutes. Make a list of things, next time you have some time, do one of these tasks and see how you’ll end up doing more in less time.

- Mind Map: this is a quick and easy page that will help you brainstorm things and ideas. Organise them all in this visual format and you’ll eventually be able to find some interesting solutions to whatever your problem is.

This is just 25 ideas, but I think it demonstrates well how much your Bullet Journal can do for you. And even more so – you can play around with all the designs and make any of these layouts look super cute and stylish, depending on your aesthetics.
I want to emphasize this as an important point, mostly because I find that it helps me use a page more effectively if I created it with love and made it look a bit extra cute.
