Minimalist Fall Bullet Journal Ideas: September Plan With Me
It’s time for my September Bullet Journal setup, and this year I’m trading my usual clutter for something calmer. After years of piling every doodle and washi tape scrap onto one page, I finally hit my limit and wanted a setup that actually breathes
So this month’s Plan With Me leans into minimalist fall Bullet Journal ideas: warm neutral tones, simple line work, and just enough autumn charm to feel cozy without overwhelming the page.

Summer has been busy for me (to the point that my Bullet Journal has not been used very much right away), and as September is approaching, I’m ready to start using my Bullet Journal fully
I wanted something in season, so I chose a color palette that I think fits it well. At the same time, I wanted a setup that wouldn’t take much time, so I could finish it while lying on my couch watching Netflix.
Before we get into the journal pages, let’s check the stationery I used for this setup.

Stationery Used
If you want to recreate my color scheme, here are all the supplies I used. And the good news is that I used the fewest supplies you can imagine!
- Nuuna journal – this is still the same journal I started in 2025, and I have plenty of pages left.
- Altenew Fineliner Pens – these are what I used for my fineliners this time. I tried them for the first time last month, and I’ve been absolutely loving them.
- Pilot Dr. Grip Mechanical Pencil – I sketch everything in pencil first, and this one has the most comfortable grip I have ever experienced.
- Zebra Mildliners – these are the markers I used for this setup, and I used two colors: yellow and orange.
And that’s it; here is all I actually used. So let’s just dive in and see how it came out.
Minimalist Fall September Setup
In this setup, I played with black-and-white doodles and used them to contrast with the colors. I like how it came out, and I think this technique works best with brighter colors, which I think these are.
So let’s dive in.
Cover Page
We start with the cover page, and I wanted to add some doodles, but nothing too elaborate. And, of course, since my Nuuna has a larger page size, I had plenty of space to fill.
That’s why I chose to draw a big S for September, add three super simple doodles, and fill the rest of the space with color.
A little trick I used to make the doodles stand out a bit more was using a thicker (05) pen to outline the doodle clusters.
Monthly Log
For a monthly log, I needed two things: space to schedule all the meetings and deadlines, and space for a big to-do list, sicne I’m moving out at the beginning of next month.
That’s why I went with a vertical format; it was super simple to set up and gives me enough space to add important dates, while half a page is basically empty for my big to-do list.
For doodles, I stuck with the Fall theme but kept them pretty simple, so each took almost no time to create.
Gratitude Log
Another page I wanted to include separately this month is a gratitude log. I include gratitude in my daily journaling, but I thought it would be a good idea to have a separate space for a gratitude log so I can practice it more intentionally.
As always, this layout is an empty one for now, but it will look great once the month is over. I’m thinking of playing around with fonts and using a word-a-day technique this month.
Weekly Spread
Last but not least is the weekly spread, and it follows the format I’ve been really loving for the last few months.
Here, I also wanted to share a little shortcut: I used a stencil for the letters from my favorite shop, and it helped me create the layout in no time. Stencils are generally a great shortcut for creating more organized, decorated layouts.
Bonus: Minimalist Weekly Spreads
Because this post was short and I created only a few layouts, I wanted to include a little bonus: a few of the weekly spreads from August.
In August, I didn’t have a theme; I created weekly spreads as I needed them, mostly in a simple, minimalist style, and used plenty of cute stationery to speed things up.
So here are the layouts.
Fall Weekly Spread
Even at the beginning of August, I already felt like getting into the cozy fall mood. This layout was my first try and inspired where I ended up with my September setup.
Simple Weekly Spread
Love this weekly layout, and it was the fastest one I’ve ever made since I used stencils for the letters and stickers for the dates.
All I really need is to know how to divide my page into the needed amount of daily sections, and this was easy to do sicne I’ve been using the same format for a long time.
Kraft Paper Weekly
I think kraft paper created a special feel and aesthetics that look especially great for the upcoming cozy season; again, I am very done with all the heat and ready for Fall.
I used these stickers from RoseKPaperCo – she has incredible stickers, including several stunning ones made of kraft paper, so you can bring the charm of that kind of paper while also spending no time on it – just stick it to the page.
Pastel Weekly Spread
Last week of August was in cuter, pastel colors, since that was how I felt. I really liked how, in August, I could play around with style and colors every week.
Again, this layout was super quick because I used stickers for the headers. And if you want to also do the white-on-black technique as I did for dates here, be sure to use my favorite Sakura Gelly Roll pen – it’s the best white gel pen I’ve ever used.
