Before we dive into inspirations, let’s look into stationery. Here are a few of my top recommendations:

October Halloween Bullet Journal Inspirations
Halloween is a fun and creative season, and creating something Halloween-themed can take many forms. I love seeing how everyone takes a unique approach to a spooky theme.
In this post, I’ve gathered a few of my own pages that I’ve been creating since I started journaling in 2018. But I also included inspiration from different creators, so you can seed different ideas and aesthetics, and you can definitely find something that fits your style.
Witchy October Bullet Journal Theme
Witches are definitely a staple of the spooky season, and when I got those stamps, I immediately thought of creating a spooky, witchy-themed setup.
I think using different colored paper also helped to make this monthly setup stand out. I also used stamps for the doodles, which is a great shortcut when you’re not in the mood for drawing.
Halloween Bullet Journal Weekly
This circle weekly spread has all the important symbols of the Halloween season, and I’m definitely here for it! I love how the creator went the extra step and even used spooky fonts for the headers.
I also love that this layout is fully in black and white with just one blob of color for the pumpkin. I think it creates an interesting effect.
Floral Halloween Theme
This layout is incredible, and I love all the elements the creator used. This combination might feel strange, but it works so well.
On one side you have cozy kraft paper and beautiful floral illustrations, and on the other side you have those dark contrast snakes making the font. So creepy and unsettling!
I can’t give you any tips on how to draw the snakle and use watercolors, but if you want to learn how to draw flowers like this, I can’t recommend enough my favorite book by Alli Koch.
Spooky Bullet Journal Cover Page
First of all, how beautiful the lettering for the month is! I also think it’s such a clever idea to make the cover page of your month a door since cover pages are kind of doorways into a new month.
Halloween Memory Page
Ok, the right side of this memory page is not very on theme with Halloween, but the left one absolutely is. I used the Archer and Olive Halloween box that came out that year (they have one every year and it’s always full of amazing spooky goodies) to create a more scrapbooky feeling to this layout.
This is a page from my memory journal, so it’s not like it’s a very practical planning layout, but it is Halloween themed, and I thought it could give you some inspiration for your BuJo. I used stamps, letter stickers, and different textured paper to make it look more like a page in a creepy old book.
Retro Halloween Cover Page
I think, generally, this is more of a retro theme, with the old-school fonts and the old picture. But considering this is for October, it really makes me think of those creepy old pictures where the spirits are trapped and come out to murder at night. It could work both ways!
I think this layout is also a great idea on how you can decorate your journal without spending hours drawing. Use scraps of paper, photos, books – anything you have lying in your craft corner.
Subtle Halloween Weekly
If you want to create something special in your Bullet Journal, you don’t necessarily have to go all over the place with decorations. Here is my weekly spread where I used small doodles to add a few accents and a hint of the creepy season.
Witchy Aesthetic Spread
I adore the scrapbook feel of this cover page; it really makes it look so special. And the contrast between black and white looks perfect for a spooky October theme.
This is also a great example of how you can put all your themed paper and stickers to good use.
Halloween Bullet Journal Cover Page
Using a lot of black on your cover page is perfect for a spooky theme, and with a black background, you can play around with different pens and colors since they will stand out so much on a dark background, especially if you use metallics, like gold here.
For the color effect you can see there, you could use paint pens, as this creator did. Acrylograph pens are great, and they come in many different colors. Plus, you can use my code MASHA10 to get 10% OFF your order.
Soft Pastel Halloween
You don’t have to go creepy with your Halloween pages; you can definitely do something soft and pastel, like these beautiful ghosts. Again, the contrast with the black background highlights their soft colors and good nature.
I’m not sure where the creator got those pastel grid notepads, but I know that the best white pen to write on black paper is Sakura Gelly Roll.
Classic Halloween Page
I love these spreads since they are what I call a classic approach to Halloween: a bunch of themed doodles put together with two main colors that fit the season. This idea is always a win!
And in case you want similar colors, the creator, as far as I could see, used these Faber-Castell Brush Pens.
Jack O Lantern Cover Page
This cover page I created is based on very Halloween-themed doodles of jack-o-lanterns. But I added my own twist – I used pastel colors instead of more traditional oranges.
I like this contrast of creepy pumpkins and cute colors.
Halloween Mood Tracker
Last but not least is my Halloween-themed tracker. It might not be the prettiest page I’ve ever created, but I sure had fun with it, and it was my first time doing something with pencils.
I loved using pencils, and they actually give so many possibilities in terms of mixing colors – creating a gradient effect was very easy, even though this was my first time doing it.
