Stationery Recommendations
Let’s first have a little chat about stationery because it’s definitely more fun and exciting to plan when you have supplies you love.
You can definitely use anything you already have, but if you’re looking for more, I’d recommend starting here:
- Fineliners. You’ll need them to create all the pages, and they are especially great for doodling and drawing. I recommend trying Sakura Pigma Micron.
- Markers. In case you want to add some color, you’ll need some. I recommend starting with Crayola Super Tips since they come in so many colors and are pretty affordable. My second choice would probably be these Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
- Brush Pens. These are perfect for creating beautiful headers, and I’d recommend starting with Tombow Fude small brush pens.
- Stencils. If you want to speed up the process, you can always try out these planner stencils, which have a lot of planning elements, as well as some decorative elements. Using this, you can create pretty and decorative pages in no time.
OK, now you have your mood set and the supplies ready, so let’s look at some Bullet Journal cover pages for Summer.
Summer Cover Page Ideas For Your Bullet Journal
A big thing I want you to remember before we look at these cover pages is that there is no limit to what kind of theme you can choose. Yes, this is a list of summer cover pages, so I tried to put together mostly summer-related cover pages.
But truthfully, anything can be your theme this summer, your journal - your rules!
So let's look at these cover pages and see if you find here something that sparks your creativity. And if not - there are plenty more resources at the end of this post.
Tropical forests are all about summer for me, and they are so vivid and beautiful. And the leaves are so very varied in shapes and colors. So here is the easy way to bring that to your Bullet Journal - just decorate your pages with the leaves.
It's also a fantastic way to take out all the shades of green in your collection.
I definitely remember spending my summers roller seating outside, even though my skates were not as cool as the ones the creator drew here. But yeah, it's a beautiful theme, and it's perfect for any month, but especially for the hot summer days.
Ice cream is a perfect summer treat, so why not add it to your summer Bullet Journal cover page?! I love how vivid and detailed this illustration is; it just makes me wanna eat some ice cream right away.
Just because it's summer, it doesn't mean you can't still create something that fits our aesthetic and screams cozy. This is a very beautiful style, and I love how the creator added pictures of a summer lodge to keep it on theme with the month.
As much as it looks like flowers, I believe the red ones are actually strawberries. It's a beautiful cover page, and I think strawberries are a perfect fruit theme for summer.
One year in July, I just wanted to doodle a bunch of summer doodles, and I decided to make the whole theme about it. It's pretty easy, and it gives you the freedom to add any doodles you want.
Flowers are a great theme for any month of the year, including summer. I think it's also a fun play on the colors and the collaboration with the Independence Day they celebrate in the USA in July.
First of all, can we take a second and admire how beautiful this illustration is? Secondly, I think everything to do with the sea and ocean is summer for me, because I can't imagine how cold it must be in winter and that is all I can think about.
Ok, there is no way I can connect this cover page with summer, but I think it's so cute I really wanted to share it with you. Plus, it's proof that anything can be a theme for your journey any month,
This is technically a welcome summer page, but I think the same concept would work very well for a cover page. I love the watermelon theme and how the colors really stand out against the black paper.
This whole theme was weird and was mostly about me using the new washi tapes I got. But These are also those swimsuit illustrations and cards that I had, so I think all together, this is a beach theme.
It's also a fun example of how if you want something colorful but don't want to draw, you can simply cover it all up with washi tape.
I love this creator and their work; it's always so adorable! This cover page combines the beauty of painting with frogs, which is not the match I thought I'd love that much.
As I mentioned before, the ocean and sea are summer for me, and here is another idea on how to create a cover page around it. Adding a few doodles is enough to create something fun and colorful.
Camping is not something I've ever done, but it seems like a good activity to try in the summer. And I love how this creator was pretty discreet with his cover page, at first, I didn't even realize what month this was for.
I also think it's a great idea to add a quote to the cover page, that way, you set the mood for the month ahead.
This creator went for a watercolor moon theme, and I really can't believe that they drew this moon, I was sure at first that it was just a well-designed sticker! How incredible!
I think any bright and colorful fruit works well for a theme in summer, and here is an example of a cover page for a lemon theme, The kraft paper the creator used for the header looks especially nice, adding more character to the layout.
Last but not least is this incredible illustration of two beautiful parrots. For me, they are tropical birds, which makes it a great theme for the summer, but I don't really know much about birds, so I might be wrong. Either way, even the color scheme screams summer to me.
