That being said, you can definitely simply use anything you already have, any old pen can be enough for create a functional and productive weekly log.
But I always find that having great stationery you’re excited about makes the process more fun and pages even more creative.
- Fineliners. These are the basics for every Bullet Journal page, perfect for drawing and doodling. I recommend Sakura Pigma Micron, which also comes in a set with different nib sizes, allowing you a variety of line thicknesses.
- Markers. If you want to add color to your pages, you’ll need some markers. Your choice will depend on what colors you like. My top choices are Zebra Mildliners and Tombow Twin Tone.
- Brush pens. To add beautiful brush lettering to your weekly spreads, you need a good set of brush pens. I recommend Tombow Fudensuke since they are smaller tips and pretty easy to master. If you’re looking for a larger brush pen and something with tons of colors, you can’t go wrong with Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
- Stencils. These little helpers are great to allow you to set up your weekly spreads faster. I recommend these weekly spread stencils that are built specifically for your weekly pages.

Let's start with this incredibly cozy weekly spread that is so perfectly Fall-themed. In this layout, the creator went full-on with all the decorative elements, and it looks absolutely stunning.
I also must admit I really like the font the creator used for the daily headers; it's so elegant!
This weekly layout is actually a Dutch door weekly spread. You can barely see, but the section on the right with Monday's daily box is actually a cutout, and behind it, you'll find several more pages for each day of the week. But it's still the same weekly spread.
I love how the creator added a little bar on the top so no matter on which day you are, you can see the important events of the week. The mix of gold and black also looks absolutely fantastic!
Sometimes, you don't need that much space for your planning, and going for something easier is totally fine. This page was very easy and quick to set up, and I love that it has the space for everything I need without the pressure of spending more time and adding decorations.
Here is another fun approach to your weekly page format - why not use all the space for colors and decorations and leave only your daily boxes blank? If you really love the artistic element of Bullet Journaling, you might want to try something like this.
Collage Style Weekly Bullet Journal Spread
I absolutely adore this layout; it looks so stylish, and kraft paper really adds to the cozy and aesthetic feeling of this layout. Honestly, it's so pretty that I almost wouldn't want to use it for my daily planning!
This is definitely one of my favorite weekly spreads of all time. The white or black technique I used for the headers is something I love using, and the idea of having a separate area in daily boxes for important events helped me to have a better idea of what has been happening that week.
I love how simple this page is, and yet it looks so very stylish. And all the creators really used were a few pictures and one black pen. A wonderful proof that you don't need thousands of dollars worth of stationery collection to create something pretty in your journal.
I tried this format myself, and I really didn't feel like it was a very functional one. But you won't know if it works for you until you try it out yourself! Plus, it definitely looks absolutely stunning!
This is a very different take on a one-page weekly spread. So different that, at first, I even thought it was a vertical monthly log!
It's a creative idea, and I love how happy and colorful it looks.
A great thing about weekly spreads is that you can customize and structure them based on what you want. You can include any elements that you need to make it a great and productive week.
This particular layout is a great example of that; the creator added all types of different elements to plan an organized week.
I love how creative people get with their Bullet Journals. This time, it's a weekly spread based on a Monopoly game, and I'm so here for it! I love that the creator even added a little pun quote to it.
This was a very fun weekly spread to create. I didn't have to do anything; the whole decoration of the layout came from using different colored paper.
I used Archer and Olive notepads for that because they already come with a dot grid. You can get them 10% OFF with my code MASHA10 if you want to check them out.
The layout itself is pretty simple, but the creator went full on the decorative elements. I also really love all the bright and contrasting colors they chose for this spread to really pop.
Flowers are a perfect way to decorate any Bullet Journal page and they look especially cute on this layout. I love the attention to detail here; as you can see, even dividers between daily sections are floral-themed.
You don't have to be extra with your weekly spread; you can do something simple and make it look extra with just a few little elements. This layout is a great example - bright colors of the dates, beautiful lettering at the bottom, and a simple weekly look elaborate and stylish.
