Stationery Recommendations
Before we dive into different weekly spread ideas, however, I wanted to mention some of the supplies that I think you’ll find useful when creating a weekly log.
You can definitely already use anything you have, but I always find that having those special stationery items you adore using makes the process more fun and pages even more creative.
- Fineliners. These are the basics for every Bullet Journal page, perfect for drawing and doodling. I recommend Sakura Pigma Micron, which also comes in a set with different nib sizes, allowing you a variety of line thicknesses.
- Markers. If you want to add color to your pages, you’ll need some markers. Your choice will depend on what colors you like. My top choices are Zebra Mildliners and Tombow Twin Tone.
- Brush pens. To add beautiful brush lettering to your weekly spreads, you need a good set of brush pens. I recommend Tombow Fudensuke since they are smaller tips and pretty easy to master. If you’re looking for a larger brush pen and soemthing with tons of colors, you can’t go wrong with Tombow Dual Brush Pens.
- Stencils. These little helpers are great to allow you to set up your weekly spreads faster. I recommend these weekly spread stencils that are built specifically for your weekly pages.
I can talk about stationery for hours, so let’s just wrap it up on these top supplies and dive right into weekly Bullet Journal spread inspirations.
Weekly Bullet Journal Spread Inspirations
There are not many basic formats for a weekly spread, but there are many ways you can tweak, customize and decorate them to make them look different and fitting to your style and planning needs.
So here are just a few examples to inspire you!
Just because something is minimalist and not brimming with colors and doodles doesn't mean it looks boring or is not creative. This weekly spread is a great example of it.
It's a simple weekly structure, and all the elements are pretty basic, yet still, it looks super pretty and very aesthetic. ANother example is how you don't need to buy ALL the stationery, and with just a few supplies, you can create something beautiful.
Next up is this beautiful and colorful spread based on, of course, one of the most popular TV shows ever! It looks stunning, but I also wanted to note how it's structured because the creator added very little space for daily notes and opted out instead to go for big, themed to-do lists.
Here is a cute idea for a fast weekly setup that still has some fun and doodles. Vertical formats like this one are my favorite because they make it so easy to divide each page into four equal parts. And using color and small doodles adds character and a theme to the page.
This is my take on a simple and minimal type of weekly spread, but as you can see, I love adding extra color and at least a few doodles. I fidn the little color accents are perfect to make a weekly spread stand out.
I'm usually pretty simple with my weekly spreads, using them to write my daily to-do list. But here is a great example of a weekly where you add some other elements as well, like weather and a big memory of the day.
I always find that brush lettering, or header designs, can work as a decoration for your weekly spread, and sometimes it's all your page needs.
Here, the creator added mountain doodles to keep the page on the monthly theme, but I believe it would look stunning even without them, simply because of the beautiful brush lettering.
This is one of my favorite weekly spreads to date! It has many different elements that have helped me be the most productive person I can be!
Apart from that, I also have a soft spot for stationery doodles; they are so fun to draw and pretty easy.
Flowers are timeless and are perfect to decorate any of your pages in any season. Another decoration of this weekly spread, though, is the beautiful handwriting. I admire how neat and aesthetic it is!
Watercolor is a fun medium, allowing you to play around a lot in your Bullet Journal. This is an excellent example of using watercolors to add background to your daily boxes because it creates a beautiful gradient, but you can still clearly see anything written inside.
Do you know that just because most of the weekly spread inspirations out there are two pages, you don't actually have to use two pages? If you don't feel like you need all the extra space, a one-page weekly spread will work just as well.
And as you can see from this example, you can still make it look beautiful and well-organized.
Collage Style Weekly Bullet Journal Spread
I absolutely love the collage style of this weekly spread. It includes to many different items and elements, I almost feel like I'd be scared to ruin it with my writing haha
A fun way to add some variety to your weekly spread is by using different colored paper. It's a quick and powerful way to add a bit of contract and do something different.
I love using Archer and Olive notepads for these purposes because they come with the same high-quality paper and a dit grid. You can get 10% off your purchase using my code MASHA10.
This weekly spread is beautiful and so well structured. I love how everything has its own section, and the creator even manages to include a little gratitude log.
It's also an interesting idea to add a little frame on the border of your weekly spread.
If you need more space, you can use more pages for your weekly log. Here, for example, you can see the creator used four pages to ensure that they had enough space for all the details they wanted to include in the daily entries.
I always find that when you create something on a smaller side, it automatically looks cuter, and I think this spread is an excellent example of that. Tiny doodles, small headers, and thin washi tape added a cute and aesthetic look to the page.
This weekly spread boasts bright daily headers with the dates and a beautifully lettered quote at the bottom. It almost looks empty this way, but it's an advantage for you, since it will allow you to have more space for your planning.
Just because you go for a one-page weekly design doesn't mean you won't have a chance to decorate it. Here is a fun weekly I've created, which ended up having enough space for my day-to-day planning and cute sushi doodles in the middle.
